TAK: -- A Chon Buri resident claims that Bt200,000 in cash and other assets were stolen from her hotel room in Tak.

Tharana Hirisajja filed a complaint with police on Wednesday, saying she awoke in her toom to discover that her iPhone 6, a luxury handbag and cash, totalling Bt200,000 in value, had disappeared from her luggage.

Tharana said she suspected her room at the hotel in downtown Mae Sot had been burglarised while she was out sightseeing in the northern town on Tuesday.

She went to sleep soon after returning to the hotel that evening and didn’t check her luggage until morning.

I love the '' around the 'robbed"

How stupid must one be to have 200k worth of values in the luggage in a ground floor room directly facing the road, no security, nothing?

BTW the headline let me assume that she is a Thai person, but more looks like a quite robust "farang".

Should be fined for smoking in the room, 2000 Baht :cheesy:

Wow.

Last week everyone was dissing on a guy for carrying his valuables around with him when he got robbed.

This week, they're dissing a lady for leaving her valuables in the room.

Tough crowd.

Next week, I suppose we'll be dissing people for even having valuables...

Eastern Euro scam ?

No it happened here so a T>>> Scam

Handbag, Iphone, 200.000, she is nothing like my wife as she always takes the phone for FB pics(hate it) Handbag needs that to show off her wealth, 200.000 that would have gone on another handbag, but hey that's ok I can live with that as she earns more than that in a month here.

So maybe a claim on travel insurance, good look with that girl you will need it.

Scam.

No, it´s not much clearer. First chance is that it´s a big lie. Second is that she´s to stupid. Both measures the identity of a fool.
How many things included in the 200 000 bath that never existed is irrelevant.

I've stayed in worse when I was carrying more than $6,000 just in cash alone.  More if I was on a mission to buy some $$$ equipment.  Add the computer, cell phone and other goodies and that doesn't seem like a lot for an extended trip.  Just 'cause you brought it with you doesn't mean you have to spend it on accommodations.  In some places, I couldn't even find a decent room to spend it on.

For those who don't like to carry cash, what happens if the ATM swallows your card, or some Bulgarians skim it?  You'll get a new one, sure.  But not before you've wasted half your holiday tracking one down, and your trip is ruined.
