Prosecutors withdraw appeal against Ahok’s conviction

Prosecutors have officially withdrawn the appeal against the North Jakarta District Court’s two-year verdict imposed on non-active Jakarta governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama for blasphemy, The Jakarta Post Online reported on Thursday.

LONDON (Reuters) - The three Islamists who killed eight people after driving a van into pedestrians on London Bridge and then attacking nearby revellers had initially tried to hire a 7.5 tonne truck, the head of the UK capital's counter-terrorism unit said on Friday.
