Most futsal courts in Deep South not usable

BANGKOK: -- Most of the 100 futsal courts in the three southernmost provinces are in dilapidated conditions with several of them unusable despite the fact that they were built about two years ago.

A Thai PBS reporter who accompanied officials from the National Anti-Corruption Commission on an inspection tour of the futsal courts in the restive region discovered that in many courts, the interlocking floor mats have peeled off or broken to pieces.

A futsal court in the compound of Jorbor Tambon Administration Organization in Yee Ngor district of Narathiwat province, for instance was littered with animal excrements – a clear sign that it has been neglected and not used for a long time.

A terrible waste of money. Why do people get angry. Money is controlled by the 'Good Ole Boy's' from Bangkok. Now they are spending more in and around Bangkok/Military.

Such a good country with some genuine warm people, except for the scammers. Someone scammed this job.

The chaps from Bangkok aren't interested in sports ( or any other ) facilities for the "buffaloes".

They had better get a move on and pay for those new APCs, there may be a few convoys needing to be escorted back up the road to Bangkok in due course...

Looking at the court today, I'd love to see someone post up a side by side photo of the opening ceremony photo-op where the local and BKK big cheeses are bragging on all they're doing for their constituents.

These courts were built before the current government and in some areas there have already been investigations, at least 4 years back, about the very very poor quality.

Hope the whole situation gets some serious action soon to punish those responsible for the obvious corruption involved and punish those officials who passed the construction and therefor allowed the contractors to be paid.

Too bad that the side you support (dislike less then the junta) was responsible for this. So PTP scammers.. not junta scammers.. Not that it matters whoever scammed should punished. I hate scammers as they rob the people from money buy constantly buying substandard stuff and taking their cut.

I don't know.  Heat, humidity, rain, very strong direct sun, animals at night pissing, crapping on them.  This doesn't seem like a good outdoor court covering idea.  I can only imagine what seeps through the cracks, mold, and stuff

That's the beauty of grass.  Heals itself...
