Just received a new Aussie passport. I know I have to take it to immigration to get stamps etc transferred. Any idea what I need to photocopy from the old and new passports to save a bit of time?

It would depend on the immigration office, most have a photocopy service close-by. Usually the data page from both passports and the stamps/entry from the old passport. Make sure they also transfer any re-entry permits.  Dont forget to change details for any bank accounts you may have opened on old passport, and licenses.

Jomtien has a photocopy service next door, but I have a photocopier at home and thought I could prepare it all myself. Haven't forgotten to advise the bank and I have to renew my DL next month so can give them new passport details then.

Take both the new and old original passports.

Copy of new passports home page. (Hologram, personal details, etc)

Copy of old passports home page. (Hologram, personal details, etc)

Copies of all pages from old passport that contain any Visas, extension stamps, entry/departure stamps and re-entry permits issued for Thailand.

Copy of TM6 Departure card

Transfer Stamps form.

Thanks to all.

They should have stamped the old passport and you write the new passport number in the space. This stamp is important as you use this instead of needing the verification letter from the Embassy. Only the OZ and South Korean embassies do this. I use Nonthaburi immigration and transferred my stamps two weeks ago. They were aware of this stamp when I showed it to them.

Note also that the visa you have expires when the old passport expires. Hence, I lost 6 months off my non-B and will have to get a new visa in November (instead of next April). I don't know if the type of visa has different rules for this. But my non-B is cut off short.

My retirement renewal was due 26th July, but as my old passport expired in January 2018 it would have meant that they would only give me an extension until then, so I decided that a new passport was a better option. 10,000 baht mind for a new Aussie passport, they stick on an extra $100 for an "overseas fee", still won't have to worry for another 10 years. BTW, I filled out the stamp where I write the new passport # .

Was there a fee involved?

There is no fee for the stamp transfer.

I seem to recollect someone saying they were charged 500 baht to transfer stamps. It's the old story, if they want to try it on and you refuse they can make life difficult.

Nonthaburi. 10 years ago at Suan Plu there was no fee either.

It seems things vary from office to office. I'm going to Jomtien office (Pattaya) but haven't heard from anyone's experience there.

Ask for a receipt if they ask for money:) There should be no fee for transferring stamps....at least not officially.
