Mate got back from Savannakhet yesterday and reckons was asked to show 200000 baht in a bank book for his non O multiple entry visa. He said plenty were getting knocked back for not being able to show funds. Got my missus to ring them up though and there was no mention over the phone about showing any. If they were asking for proof of funds for a Non Imm O ME Visa, one would assume it was based on marriage or dependant of Thai child and the requirement would be 400,000 BHT. I would like to see some reports from people who have just come back ( within a day or so ) confirming this is indeed the fact. Seems strange that bank account only needs to show 200,000 baht? Why not the full monty for a non o based on marriage....400,000 baht ( or thereabouts ). If true....sucks big time....but only to be expected. Easy visas from British consulates were killed off by an excess of publicity on expat forums. It seems we do the work for immigration. The more we brag on line with multiple threads on why Suvannakhet is an easy touch...the quicker it ends in a tightening up of regulations. If it's true then we are re the ones to blame. All the bragging has finally produced the inevitable result. I feel sorry for the guys who won't be able to get over the bar. A OA visa can only be applied for in your home country so that was certainly what they were applying for.So JabsJabs is applying for what (along with some other people)? He says that yesterday morning nobody was asked of any fund or bank statement... As you saying this 200.000 are coming out from nowhere as the requirements are different...
