Australian man who escaped from Bali prison thought to be hiding out in Pattaya

An Australian man who is on the run after escaping from a prison in Bali may be hiding out in Pattaya.

Shaun Davidson, 33, was one of four foreigners who tunneled their way out of the Kerobokan prison on June 19.

Two of the men, Indian Sayed Mohammed Said and Bulgarian Dimitar Nikolov Iliev were arrested this week at a luxury resort in East Timor, some 2,000km from the prison.

However, Davidson and another man, Malaysian Tee King Kok, remain on the run.

Now the Courier-Mail reports that Davidson is thought to be hiding out in Pattaya, having sought refuge with other known fugitives.

It was reported that Davidson has close ties with the Mongols motorcycle gang, who along with the likes of the Hells Angels and Bandidos, apparently have chapters in Pattaya.

The Courier-Mail also reports that Davidson has been leading the authorities on a ‘Catch Me If You Can’ style chase since escaping from prison.

On his Facebook page, Davidson has been checking into various locations around the world every couple of days, partying in nightclubs in Amsterdam one day, drinking in Copenhagen another and most recently relaxing in Dubai.

However, the ‘check-ins’ are just thought to be a ploy to try and thwart law enforcement officials, who actually believe he has fled to Pattaya with the help of an international crime syndicate.

The Courier-Mail describes Pattaya as “arguably the fugitive capital of the world”.

I kinda understand him. Nobody wants to rot in an South-East-Asian Prison.

He only had a few weeks left of his sentence in Bali. After he was going to rot' in a four star Aussie prison.

No way !

Considering 2 out of every 3 foreigners in Pattaya supposedly are ex-SAS/SBS/Delta/Green Beret/DSG/JTF/Spetznaz elite Airborne Seal Team 007 commandos, how could a criminal expect to hide for long in this city ? Surely all those elite "Operator" types would have him corralled and handed to the police in no time flat !

I think this kind of speculation is harmful to Pattaya's reputation and someone should invoke Article 69 to shut it down so we can go back to stories about raids on adult establishments that have no effect.

How else are we going to learn about all the fun places that exist in this city ??

Yes, if Pattaya is “arguably the fugitive capital of the world”, then if all caught, be last one out turn off the lights!!

Plus, wonder where "Dodgy Davidson" gets his cash?? Must have a 'treasure  trove' stashed away of 'negotiable items' if part of Bikies Gang...

Pattaya just can't seem to break away from the number one position can it? Until recently it was the sex capital of the world, but with a couple of raids and a bunch of denials, that was all solved we were told, but now it is number one again, this time for people on their toes. I wonder what's next? Number one spot for most crooked police?

As he is a wanted fugitive on the run can't the police ask Facebook for the IP address he is posting from ?

Obviously it was friends of his doing the posting .He could not have been in all those places .

Didn't he have something stupid like 2 months left? Who escapes out of jail to avoid a 2 month sentence?

Maybe someone that wishes to avoid extradition and subsequent trial for drug offences.

He was put inside for passport fraud: travelling on someone else's ID.  If you are reading this Mr Davidson, you really should know be told (if you don't already know it) that you have a screw loose and unhinged people like you eventually get collared. Give yourself up and claim insanity: you have all the evidence to prove it! Go back inside for a couple of years and then come out and be a nice boy, ok?

Yes, but they're all tourists!  We keep being told that Thailand is a safe place for tourists, and Pattaya has a happy zone!
