BANGKOK: -- Thai TV took time out from the Confederation's Cup football tournament to check up on Thais who have decided to go and live in Russia.

They spoke to an ex female Muay Thai boxer from Nakorn Panom who has married a Russian and has two children.

She was making dumplings and admitted that food could be a problem. But she seemed happy enough with their 55 square meter apartment that cost 5 million baht.

Though she was the only Thai in the whole neighborhood.

Her husband looked a little glum and along with the children didn't offer an opinion on their situation.

Thai TV reported that there are 2,300 Thais living in Russia - of these 400 are students studying Russian language mostly.

Others work there as chefs, in traditional massage shops or as maids.

Good luck to all the Thais that have gone to a country where there are lots of troubles and

sanctions, which have affected the general population, as well the currency is low due to

low oil prices.  Way to go Putin!  Keep up your good work...

Geezer

I was going to just ignore this story and then noticed it had over 1140 views, so I thought, hmm must be something interesting in it...

Note to self, go with initial instincts in future.

Putin actually has something like an 80+% popularity rating, so seems his people are happy enough with him. Aside from that numerous reports suggest the sanctions have had the effect of actually stimulating home grown businesses to replace the goods sanctioned, seems that the real loser has actually been Europe, not Russia.

Putins pipularty is a bit like NK leaders popularity, if you disagree, you will just put yourself

and family in an unhappy state. Not good to be n either of these people's bad sde.

Geezer
