NAKHON NAYOK: -- A monitor lizard whose tummy got stuck in the opening of the drainage pipe was freed in Nakhon Nayok’s Muang district on Tuesday.

Staff from the Sawang Ariyatham Sathan Foundation arrived at the sidewalk pipe on Suwannasorn Road after passers-by spotted the stuck reptile.

It appeared exhausted and could not move.

Foundation staff tie its mouth and freed it after breaking the drain’s concrete cover. The lizard is two-metre-long and it weighs about 30 kilogrammes.

The lizard was released into the wild.

I like these big lizards,  I think they take care of the pups of soi dogs, and I do not like soi dogs.

Geezer

In Africa, we used to eat dinner in a picnic area, and watch the Monitors go into and under the containers to eat the kittens - it was a good for a laugh.  This way the cat lovers couldn't blame us for the kitties disappearing  by the dozens, just natures way of culling the herd.  I don't hate animals, just beleive in karma.
