WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The president's oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., has added a lawyer with congressional experience to his legal team, ABC News reported on Sunday.

Trump Jr. has hired Karina Lynch of the law firm Williams and Jensen, ABC said. ABC said Lynch confirmed to the network that she had been hired by the president's son, but she did not respond to a query from Reuters.

Trump Jr. also hired Alan Futerfas as a lawyer after reports that detailed meetings last year between him and a Russian lawyer.

A federal special counsel and several congressional panels are investigating allegations by U.S. intelligence agencies that Russia meddled in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and potential connections between Russian officials and the Trump campaign.

Moscow has denied any interference, and Trump says his campaign did not collude with Russia.

Trump Jr., his father's former campaign manager Paul Manafort, and Jared Kushner, the president's son-in-law and one of his senior advisers, all met with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya in June 2016. That meeting was held in Trump Tower in New York after the lawyer offered damaging information about Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Lynch's biography on her law firm website describes her as having experience on the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. She was also investigative counsel to Senator Charles Grassley, according to her law firm biography.

The Senate Judiciary Committee said on Friday that Trump Jr. and Manafort had agreed to negotiate whether to be interviewed by the panel in its Russia investigation.

You're right.  I'm particularly disappointed with Sen Feinstein of my former state of residence, California.

She's direct center, between left and right.  I once wrote  her a letter asking what her opinion was re; legalizing hemp.  She wrote back, simply echoing the Justice Dept's 90 year old archaic & harmful abolitionist policy - as if she had never had an original thought about it.

She had to sign off on allowing Don Jr., Manafort and Kushner to dodge testifying in public.  She let down her constituents by wimping out.   Democrats need to grow spines and do what's right.  She's better than any Republican in Congress, but that's not saying much.

Lots of people donated to HRC.  Lots of people drink milk also.  Shall we disdain people hired by Mueller - for drinking milk?

You are just making stuff up.

And shamelessly attempting to spread disinformation.

One did.

One out of 13.

The 13 it will take to chase down the many implicated,

and the criminal investigation for obstruction of justice, collusion, fraud, racketeering, money laundering and espionage.

CORRECTED: Three members of Mueller's team have donated to Democrats

One member of the team is not

Robert Swan Mueller III /ˈmʌlər/ (born August 7, 1944) is an American lawyer and civil servant who was the sixth Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, serving from September 4, 2001, to September 4, 2013. A Republican, he was appointed by President George W. Bush and his original ten-year term was given a two-year extension by President Barack Obama, making him the longest-serving FBI director since J. Edgar Hoover.

Three is too many when Mueller is supposed to be non-partisan and above reproach.  Surely there were enough qualified lawyers who did not make campaign contributions to either side that could have been chosen instead.  This is an unforced error by Mueller and hurts the perception of an independent counsel.

Right.

Let's get our Brownshirts on and ask employees what their political affiliations, past or present are before they get the job.

This one-dimensional, binary thinking is beyond tedious...

Special Counsel is different, but maybe your one-dimensional binary thinking says otherwise...

How funny! You want it non partisan. If only 3 have contributed to democrats, who do you thing the other 10 have contributed to? How in the swamp that is US politics can anything ever be non partisan? It is just that normal people with a sense of decency will put country before partisan politics and party, something the majority of Trump supporters cannot do. If it is so bad that 3 people have in the past contributed to Democrats then why do you support a President who in the past donated to Hillary Clinton? How about the Presidents new head of counsel for the Russia affair, Ty Cobb, he was a loner to Al Franklin. How come the President has hired him? And as for Scaramucci well lets say nothing.

Franken: Trump Jr., Manafort need to testify under oath

"During an interview on CNN's "State of the Union,"

Franken was asked whether it was good enough for the two to testify behind closed doors and not under oath."

"No, that's not good enough," Franken said. "It should be under oath."

"Franken said he would like to ask questions about whether they had any other meetings with the Russians."

That's such an insipid and weak argument by Trumpsters. Millions of Americans donated to 2016 campaigns.  Some are very rich, many who are very poor, and all in-between stata.  Using the same parameters, should all Oval Office people who contributed to Trump's campaign be kicked out?  How is that different?  The people in the Oval Office (ever-growing #'s of lawyers in included) are actively immersed in lawyering biz, mostly trying to wiggle out of what the Ind.Counsel will find.

Trump and his bereft buddies have so little to float on.  It's like they're trying to cross the Atlantic in a raft made of a bushel of 4-leaf clovers.   If they weren't sniveling cowards and/or were the slightest bit innocent, they would stand up like men and tell all they know.  Instead, they contribute nothing to the investigation, except bleating 'fake news' and trying to carry out character assassinations.  The only bits of info the general public knows about re; the treasonous activity of Trumpsters, is what trickles out from mainstream media.  Even Don Jr's publishing of emails only came out because NY Times was kind enough to inform him that they had the same emails, and were going to publish them the next day.  Don Jr then quickly published them, making it appear to intelligence-challenged Trump supporters, as Don Jr being forthright.  What Trumpsters are doing is worse than a sick joke - because it's harming the USA and its people.

Yawn.

Ya got nothin'

Same as before.

Things are heating up so bad, even you had to come out of retirement?

Given the fact that the occupier of the White House is under criminal investigation for obstruction of justice, collusion, fraud,

racketeering, money laundering and espionage?

And the fact that his son, along with a Senior White House adviser to his father and a Russian connected Trump campaign director,

had a clandestine meeting with agents from a hostile foreign adversary.?

Russia.?

Pfft...

Meanwhile, the wheels of justice are turning.
