Thai smart phones locked

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me if Thai smart phones are locked

Could I use my wiki smart phone in the UK

Thanks for any advice

Some heavily subsidized, low-end phones are carrier-locked here.

Can you share any detail on your exact model? Did you purchase it from a mobile service provider?

Obviously you could try a SIM from a different provider (these cost 49 baht, or borrow one for a minute or two) to verify.

The next issue will be if your model supports the frequencies used in the U.K., on your provider of choice there.

Assuming it's un-locked and supports the required frequencies, it may well work.

Unlocked phones purchased in Thailand work in the UK.

Generally only the ones that are carrier branded are locked, if you went and brought a Iphone 7s, S8 etc they wouldn't be locked.
