BMW "sold by car care company" drama takes on a new twist as manageress counter sues hi-so owner for lying

The Thai drama surrounding the fancy car that its owner said was stolen while it was in for a wash has taken a new twist.

Thaivisa reported last week that the woman who took the BMW Z4 into the shop in Pathum Thani claimed it was then stolen after the shop said they wanted to use pictures of it to promote the business.

Now it has emerged that the real owner of the vehicle, 4กน (kor nor)1414, is in fact a very well known construction contractor in the central Thai region that was named by Daily News as "Pongsathorn".

Police managed to find the vehicle after stopping it at a checkpoint then charged the car cleaning shop manageress Woranit Buara, 32, with theft.

But now police at the Khukhot station are being forced to reassess this as they have been presented with evidence of Line application messages between Woranit and the car owner.

Woranit has counterclaimed in a complaint to police that the well known contractor has been lying about the matter.

Police said they were preparing all evidence for presentation to the prosecutor and this should be done within the next 30 days.

As more details come out, the less I  understand it.

Was the lady who dropped it off to be washed his wife, or Gik?

The owner (the construction contractor) had contact with the carwash manager by Line...she let those messages read to the police and claims he is lying now.

Probably he gave her orders to sell the car by Line messages?

Ah, the plot thickens. Possible scenario - real owner gives wife/gik (use of) BMW, sneakily arranges sale w/out telling said wife/gik (for whatever reason but one can guess a few), ignorant wife/gik up in arms, innocent manageress tells police "yeah, we sold the car (as instructed)", "yeah, we have the (real owner's) money"; real owner gets grief from wife/gik and obfuscates.

Money and lying go hand in glove in Thailand like everywhere else in the world. No news value here.

I thought it was breathing and lying

Children throwing their rattles out of their prams. My daddy is bigger than your daddy attitude. Very mature indeed. Great example you are both setting but as we know it seems to be the norm here.

So if you have a luxury expensive sports car that you want to sell, you ask the car wash manageress to sell it for you?

Ah, yes, that's a slight weakness in the scenario, but if you want to separate motor from wife/gik and avoid (short term) confrontation maybe you do; she takes it to the carwash, gets sold, done deed; come to think of it the whole "we want to use your car for demonstration purposes" story sounds like a real owner/manageress setup to separate said wife/gik from said motor. Of course, this is only my speculative fiction, who knows what the real story is.

I just wish one of these years the reporters in Thailand learn how to properly investigate and report on a topic, not just the typical whatever they are told by police and others.

You want complicated? Let's simplify things. Hows 'bout this for a scenario. More like it, huh?
