Kanchanaburi provincial police yesterday (Aug 15) charged raft operator and his daughter for illegal advertising of alcohol after they held a riverine bikini party which went on Facebook Live for six hours.

The live broadcast of the bikini party on the raft at Srinagarind dam went viral on the social media with many viewers commenting it was  inappropriate and obscene.

The indecent exposure of girls in bikinis however did not prompt police action but the showing of alcohol drinks with their brands in the live broadcast that took the police to task.

Kanchanaburi police commander Pol Maj Gen Kamron Boonlert said the “Money” raft operator Mr Sakchai Udon, 49, and his 23-year-old daughter Ms Nutchanat were summoned for questioning yesterday (Aug 15).

Both said they held the bikini party to commence the opening of their floating raft house.

The police commander said the police initially charged them for illegal advertising of alcohol drinks.

Girls in bikinis are obscene? To who? The young female form should be celebrated as one of the wonders of nature. Prudes with the  tiny little brains and  aesthetic appreciations of a clam are the real obscenity here.  Meanwhile slaughter on the roads, and the wanton destruction of the environment continues unabated.

another in a long line; the current ultra-conservatism is playing out just as many of us predicted; more to come; the core reason i hope for another form of govt here

Don't hold your breath on that.

The current lot are just settling in, feeling more comfortable and flexing their muscles.

It is going to be a long time before we see any other administration.

General Prayuth. Remember his sensitive remarks about KOh Tao warning of the dangers of beautiful women wearing bikinis?

One of these raft parties, complete with thumping music, went on until about 6am  the last time I was in Kanch. as its on the river the cops do nothing (except collect).

The PM spoke out about them last year- one of the few things I agree with him on.

That raises the question if foreign women bringing a bikini to Thailand are excluded from the latest TAT and Thai Airways stunt to use the pink carpet line?

Why? This is nothing to do with the fact the girls in question were wearing bikinis, it's about the illegal advertising of alcohol.

What's up with the blurred photo?

That´s the stupid thing! :cheesy:

However, Bikini partys it really something we can not have under any circumstances. It might even lower the rock bottom moral that currently exists. :cheesy:

How about these new entertainment ideas:

Get Dressed Buffalo Dance

Fur Coat Hip Contest

Invisible Beer Bottle on the Photo Competition

Those rafts (read open floating disco's) in Kanchanaburi are a real pain...we stayed in a nice riverhotel-resort to have them sailing by every MINUTE with their huge stereo's on full power...really they make an awfull lot of noise untill deep in the night and there are hundreds of them.

I can't understand why the Police never stopped those rafts for making far too much noise. Will never go back there.
