Must I Leave After 90 Days?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a multiple-entry Non-Immigrant B Visa for 12 months, valid until July this year. So far, I have been leaving Thailand every 90 days.

However, friends have told me that it is not necessary to leave Thailand - I can simply get my passport stamped after the 90 days.

Is this true?

I'm in trouble as my passport is almost full and it will take too long for me to get it renewed before I have to leave on May 21.

For help I would be very grateful.

Cheers,

Tom

i don't know about the biz multi but for type O you have to leave every 90 until you get the one year extension. As far as pages running out, if you are American, you can get extra pages the same day at the embassy, no problem been there done that. Don't know about other countries though. Good luck :o

what is your nationality?

you can go to your embassy here in thailand and have pages added most likely. you will need to continue with visa runs every 90 days unless you have an extension.

There have been reports that new 'B' visas are being issued with extension restrictions crossed out and they are being told to go to immigration to receive new 90 day stay stamps. Don't believe anyone has actually done so yet so it may only apply in the future when those with the new visas end their first 90 days. If you must wait for new passport they might be able to give you an extension of stay until new passport ready. I assume you from a county that can not add page inserts?

According to Immigration this is only a rumour. You still get to leave every 90 days unless you are qualified and extend. But as ever, T i T. :o

One has to be careful this does not apply to all countries. While I agree it is the case for the US. You do not even have to be present yourself for those extra opages to be added it is possible to send a representative. also it is posible to have more than one set of additional pages added.

However for the UK for example it is NOT possible to have additional pages added. It is necessary to apply for a new passport.

It is necessary to check at the appropriate Embassy beforehand. If new passport is required this could take some additional time as security checks are carried oout.

Again for example in the case of the US. The application for a new passport is handled in the US not here in Thailand

Ah, therein lies the problem - as a German national, it is impossible fto have pagesa dded to my passport.

So my only possibility is to go to Malaysia and hope that they won't mind stamping my very last half page...

Thanks for the help though.

Malaysia may object to stamping you in with only a half page left.

you can get a new (the old green version) PP at the embassy valid for one year, takes 2-3 days if you tell them it's urgent. I've done it and it works.

Viel Glück
