Islands Around Phuket Closed ?

Featured Replies

Just had a call from the wife, apparently it was on the news last night that the tourist islands around Phuket have been closed due to the forthcoming monsoon. Can anyone on the ground confirm this for me please ? If it's true, it's really screwed up my holiday there in 2 weeks :o

Not true, everything is open as usual - I am off to Phi Phi on Sunday.

It does happen frequently Phasey, when Basher has been eating that marshite stuff, one fart and the noxious odours drift thru the islands killing vegetation and fauna. :o

Sometimes during the monsoon the seas get a bit rough for the boats to go back and forth. Phuket hospitals get filled with bad back cases after people sitting at the front of boats get crunched after getting airborne over a wave and coming down with a thud on the bench seat.

The Similan Islands are always closed in low season.

Everything else will be open as usual.
