Court seizes  Yingluck’s 30-million baht bail bond

The Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Holders of  Political Positions today ordered the seizure of ex-premier Yingluck Shinawatra’s bail bond after she did not show up for court appearance to hear her verdict on the rice pledging scheme scam.

The court considered her absence as an attempt to escape although she would earlier assigned her lawyer to notify the court that she could not attend the hearing of the verdict because she developed sickness from the imbalance of fluids in the ears.

Her notification was forwarded to the court just one hour before the court session would start at 9.00am.

It just goes to show how prejudice the courts here are, she advised her lawyer to advise the courts that she could not come due to her illness and the judges took the 30 million, after rescheduling the court date to 27 September, highly illegal what they have done, oh well, that's Thailand for you.

Would love to know how much bail the Red Bull DH had down if anyone can enlighten me.

Now that they have taken her bail money and issued her with an arrest warrant, she knows what to expect of the outcome, if they haven't taken her passport, I hope she skips as quick as the others did, because there is no justice IMO.

If she gets away (a wink and a nod?) and flees the country, it's potentially a win-win for everyone.  She won't be disgraced by ending up in the clink and the government won't have to lock her up.  There will be lies, evasions, fumbling and mumbling but perhaps nothing will come of it and no one will lose face. Amazing Thailand.

Wishful thinking if you think for ever.  One day Thailand will come to its senses and treat coup makers to what they truly deserve.

It's possible. After all they are starting to give criminal politicians what THEY deserve.

Really  - check your facts on others that have skipped the country.

I'm quite sure there are many criminals who have skipped the country, quite a few wearing red shirts. Is there some reason you want to divert the topic?

No, but they are the ones skipping the country or serving 42 years. Party night!

A 42 year jail sentence merits you throwing a party?

Extraordinary. How will you celebrate if one of them dies?

New passports - $50,000

Booking passage out of the country and greasing the wheels - $200,000

Forfeited bail bond - $1,000,000

Freedom - Priceless!

Actually the 42 year sentence is just part of the celebration. If they manage to catch Yingluk, give her the same with no bail for attempting to flee, I might even be tempted to shout a few rounds. My cup of schadenfreude overfloweth.

30 mil. Just imagine. Times this pic by 3 and this will be going into a few peoples pockets. Then times it again by ? for her assets, bank accounts etc plus what they grabbed from Thaksin. They could buy the subs out of their own pockets.

I once calculated how large B600 billion would be in B1000 notes for the g/f's benefit. Our 2 bedroom house would be filled to the rafters 4 times.

Her brother's mate Apichart (currently in prison) was paid an agent's fee of B900 million for one 300,000t G2G rice deal. That's your picture times 90. Do you think she is worried about pocket change?
