BANGKOK, 1 September 2017 (NNT) – The Prime Minister has asked for cooperation from business operators while promising them full government assistance to help stimulate the economy.

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha this week chaired the Prime Minister’s Awards 2017 event organized by the Department of International Trade Promotion to encourage Thailand’s businesses to be more competitive on the world stage and to reflect the benefit of public and private coordination.

At the event, the PM congratulated winners and assured them that his government has prioritized supporting their development and global expansion. He stated that the administration is determined to add value to Thai products and services, through the application of innovation under the Thailand 4.0 agenda and is working to ensure peace and stability in the nation in aid of economic growth.

The PM encouraged producers to incorporate unique Thai characteristics into their designs and goods, and to be aware of the Kingdom’s needs before saying that corruption and unfair business practices will be eradicated for the country’s improved future.

Why ?  Are emulate sales down ?  Unless you are mass producing bird houses or cuckoo clocks, not sure where you would incorporate unique Thai characteristics into product.  Other than food or architecture, not sure what would be unique.  Thai style of architecture looks very similar to that found in Laos, Cambodia and southwestern China.

Just another outpouring of grandeloquence by Prayut Chan-o-cha which all adds up to a big fat nothing.

As for "innovation" most of the innovation in Thailand is developed in the shadow economy and in new creative forms of corruption.

Thailand is governed by mostly enfeebled military officers who rely on gimmicks, stunts and dreams instead of seriously planned policy development. On just about every occasion all people hear from Prayut is about his wonderful but nebulous Thailand 4.0.
