Canadian Brutally Murdered In Ranong

Has anyone heard of a recent murder. He was married to a Thai, and she paid someone 30000 Baht to kill her husband. My intertest is that the hit man is the uncle of my friends wife. They are in Australia, and his wifes family are not very good at passing on bad news.

I'm pleased you all find it amusing. The latest I have are facts. My wife spoke to the one of the police, who have just been to see the murderers nephew. He lives down the road from me and the police were looking for the gun. The victims wife left the house unlocked so that the killer could enter and kill the husband while asleep. The man's body has already been repatriated. My wife forgot to ask his nationality. The killing was about 4 days ago around the 1st of Feb.

They arent laughing at the situation, they are laughing at your attempt to describe the situation which was difficult to understand.

1 Victim Farang of unknown nationality.

2 Wife - Thai gives 30K to murderer. The murder is uncle to the bloke down the road and the lady in Australia who is married to my mate.

3 Wife either unlocks door to let murderer in the house or leaves house unlocked.

4 Murderer kill the victim while the victim is asleep.

5 Wife confesses all to police. She is arrested along with boyfriend.

6 Murderer arrested.

7 Police go to murderer's nephew's house looking for gun. This is because the nephew was accused of a murder in Phato last year, when a Nai Yok Orbator was killed. That one has not been solved yet. Yes he was beat up in an attempt to get a confession.

An update. It was not Phato where the murder was carried out but in Ban Nong, which is just north of Muang Ranong. His wife is from Phato. The victim was Canadian, possibly French Canadian. Surname is Henry or Henri according to my wife It is in the papers, Daily News.

I have a friend in Ban Nong so may learn something from him.

My friend tells me that the reports in the paper that he beat her are wrong. Also he took out an insurance policy for 15M baht to her on his death. He worked in the oil industry in S.America, 3 months there and 3 months in Ranong

Mosha, its in the Thai Rath newspaper online today. Dale George Henry, 47year old Canadian. His 27 year old wife was arrested today along with the hitman. And she claims in the Thai Rath article that her husband beat her up on a regular basis and that was why she had him killed.

I guess having him arrested and most likely band from country would not of gotten all the goodies I take it!

Should I add the only reason the thai boyfriend had interest in her was because of the Farang ATM.

Typical lazy good for nothing bunch. Thailand could end this type of situations if they done the farang thing and

created a better funded welfare system. These people would of never worked for something they could steal anyway.

There was supposed to be some text with that last post. Can't see my edit button. I can only repeat what my friend told. She was not beaten by her husband and the papers are not reporting about the insurance policy.

Translation of Thai Rath caption by Briggsy

The Provincial Police of Meuang Ranong present to the public Mrs Maneerat Henri, Mr Amornsak Ketkaew and Mr Jinda sae Tae to make a press statement. [This is] after they carried out the killing of Mr Dale George Henri (not sure of English spelling), a Canadian. Mrs Maneerat claimed she organised the killing out of frustration at being hit by her farang husband thus suffering a loss of dignity.

The sad part is she is using loss of face as a justifiable excuse to commit murder, and it will probably work! And the 15 million baht is just a surprise bonus! Ya right......

Isn't it amazing that all these stupid murdering Mia Farangs hire some idiot for a ridiculously low sum to do the killing - get caught every time.

Why not, if you are gonna get millions, to hire a professional for a couple of hundred thousand! A gunman who hides in the jungle for a couple of months and not his mother's <deleted> attic!

Here's 5 possible reasons.

1. Capital. Thailand's underworld likes cash up front.

2. Connections. People from peasant stock lack them.

3. Greed. If you have no morals, you probably don't want to hand over half the loot to somebody else.

4. Logic. If you involve professional hitmen, they will be connected and by extension powerful. Having done the hit, they'll just extort all the money.

5. They do. And they are the cases one never hears about!

Actually, i already researched professional gunmen in Thailand.

1, You pay 50% up front and if it's successful you pay the next 50%. But yeah, you are right, if the gunmen boss (usually highly connected guy - ie..politician etc..) suspects that the hiring Mia Farang is as thick as a plank of wood, he could extort a lotta that money out of her! - in fact, she could end up dead herself!

Anyway, that advice of mine was not to be taken too seriously!

No haven't heard this story, however it could very well be true for as most farangs who have been in the land of smiles for awhile know a hitman is fairly cheap here and this sort of thing is common place in the land of smiles.

You sickos that make stupid comments appear to have plenty of time to write rubbish...anyway on the subject....the victim was a personal friend of mine (as was his wife)...I had dinner with them last week.....the truth of the matter is that Dale didn't beat his wife at all...they had an "arrangement" to be able to carry on a seperate lifestyle at times. so there was never any jealousy Recently Dale had a fall and broke his leg in several places and was on crutches recovering from it . He was working for an Oil Company in Nigeria (Africa) and normally spent about a month on leave in Ranong and he would then work for approx 3 months before his next leave. Due to his broken leg, he was staying in Ranong for a lot longer than normal and it is believed the boyfriend of the wife became frustrated that he was not seeing enough of Dales wife. Yes, there was a big Insurance Policy involved, but Dale looked after his wife and her family really well financially...he had purchased some land up past the Ranong Hot Springs (in his wifes name) where he had planned to build a house and rent out ( he was renting a nice house that he had renovated on a long term at a very reasonable rental). He had purchased a car and a Utility for his wife and had his own Harley.

The money involved with the assassination was supposedly 200,000 baht to the boyfriend to arrange things and that 60,000 was paid to the hitman. Entry was gained through an unlocked dooe at 1 am and the 4 dogs did not raise an alarm ( probably because they knew the boyfriend who accompanied the hitman) Dale was woken and he raised his hands to protect himself as one or more bullets passed through his hand.

Dale was a nice quiet guy who didn't create any waves and didn't deserve to die at the hands of these animals.

What i'm trying to say here is that these bozos who charge a ridiculously low sum are NOT 'proper' hitman - just some drunkards from down the road! Professional gunmen are NOT cheap and they are not easy to know. I've already researched it, the average price for a Pro. is 2-300,000 baht. (victim is only Mr Average).

Posted before I read Wombats comment. My condolences. Let me tell you Wombat that the Thai Press like the Thai Rath newspaper (who wrote this story) are sensationalists and they write a lotta crap. The murderer says just one thing like she has and the paper prints it!

Most annoying thing is that the assasin has been paid with the victims money. :o The boyfriends probably eye'd up the 15mil life insurance policy and used any excuse he can to get hold of it. In effect the victim signed his own death warrant upon taking out that policy.

Because the Mia Farang is stupid too. Maybe he beat her and maybe he didn't - but who has the real "upper hand" in Thailand? The farang? She can walk away from buddy any time she wishes, and pay someone 2,000 baht to give him the kicking of his lifetime..and take photosn of the event to boot!

Her story doesn't wash. Anyway, is anyone still laughing at the OP's story?

Thanks you two for "perhaps" helping people realize that we are talking about a human being with family.

Dale is my older brother.

My stomach turned as I read some of the posts. Quite heartless and cold.

Dale went to Thailand for a visit during off time from his job. He fell in love with the place and decided to reside there during his off time. Then he fell in love. He married nee. Nee and her extended family were very well looked after and had all the material things they could hope for, through Dale's very generous nature. An insurance policy shows that. He obviously trusted her too much. I never met her, my brother did. He was getting ready for another visit, and Dale making requests for little things to bring from Canada...

Quote from Dale " I'll take 6-10 packages (smoked salmon) if you have the room, we love the stuff. Good news about the chili powder - it's such a burn that the supermarkets that used to stock the stuff stopped. 3 long weeks, getting close. The bummer part is how fast the holiday goes and then bang, you're flying home."

Please think before posting...it all seems like a bad dream to those of us who knew and loved him.

Nee...may your fate be dealt with accordingly...on this earth or ? That man loved and trusted you. I really hope you will never step another foot outside of a horrid prison cell. Never see the sunshine or all the beautiful things Dale so generously provided you. And most of all you wiped out the only true love you have ever known or will ever know.

Thank you at last from some decent posts. I know the hit man, and this is not the firsrt time he has killed. Usually in the neighbouring provinces. This AFAIK is the 1st in Ranong. Hopefully the last. He is strongly suspected of killing A Nai Yok Orbator in Phato he also killed a witness who had seen his face, although the witness did not die immediately. I have a friend in Ban Nong, and I don't know if he knew Dale, but he too is angry at this killing. My wife thinks the wife will get the death penalty, Pay the killer will be an old man when he gets out. His wife left with their son last year after the last murder.

The police have been to the killer's nephew's home looking for the weapon. I hope justice is done over this. It is disgusting that the victims own money was used in such a fashion.

Talk about the money, the going rate to have a Thai killed is about 5000 Baht around here. My wife always thought having a Farang killed was asking for trouble

Congratulations to the low lifes as usual, some great posting.

I recently airbrushed a crash helmet for Dale (who I never met, this was through my website), I received this morning an email from his sister, informing me of the murder and asking if I could find any news for her, I thought Thai Visa would be a good place to start, what do you think? Should I forward the url? Will it help her in her time of pain and loss, I doubt it.

Good luck with your Karma boys, wonder if you will laugh so hard the day you wake up to find a stranger at the end of the bed?

What is it with some people here? I had the misfortune to unsuccesfully be the first to aid Matt Hayes, the guy who had the accident in Pattaya and died on route to Chonburi, in that thread it was insinuated I could have actually been to blame in some way.

And you wonder why they are tightening the visa laws? Cant come soon enough for me.

If anyone does have some information or contact details that will help this lady please contact me via ***Please PM poster--email removed per forum rules***

Wombat, it sounds as if you could help her much more than I can I never met Dale with the exception of a few client customer emails, please get in touch.

The comedians? You should be ashamed of yourselves, but hey TIT like thats ever gonna happen!

Find some pride.

RIP Dale.

Off-topic and insensitive posts have been deleted.

A note to the deceased's family, please be aware that many posters on Thai Visa post speculation and hearsay which often turn out to be based not on any facts at all but rather a rumor heard from somebody's sister's cousin etc etc. Therefore, without any verification, it becomes too easy to disbelieve all the stories that get posted here. Unfortunately, original posters did disbelieve this story which then later turned out to be true and verified in the news.

Please accept both my apologies and my condolences.

I have now deleted all earlier references making light of what was intially an unproven allegation.

Lets keep this on-topic and relevant, anyone with further information or news reports, please post.

My condolences to the friends and family of the victim. This is an all too often occurrence in Thailand and it is very often the kindest, most generous and sensitive who end up the victims.

Thank-you to all the people who posted regarding our loss....Dale was my brother whom I shall miss forever...Dale mistakenly trusted Nee and he was not capable of commiting any act of violence toward her...he loved her....Last June he paid for Nee and two nephews as well as someone else whom I don't know to go on a vacation to Hong Kong he paid for flights, hotels and spending money for all....I thought he was nuts spending so much money for everyone to go but that was Dale...Generous to a fault...He never minded taking care of her whole family as he took great pleasure in providing pleasures which otherwise would be impossible for them to attain. Nee drove a brand new car and had full access to all his money....there was no monthly allowance she could spend whatever she liked. There was no reason to hire a hitman other than collecting a life insurance policy which was provided by his employer. It is impossible to to imagine how someone could do what she did and I am having a very difficult time coming to terms with this. Hopefully Nee and her partners in crime get punished to the full extent of Thai law whatever that may be.

Rest in Peace Bro.....

This is all like a horrible dream...no he is not the son of a grieving Mother or Father. They both passed too early. The stories behind that are also sad. Dale did not believe wholeheartedly in christianity. In that,he was comfortable with buddhism. That was one thing that really attracted thailandThe philosophy behind buddhism was what he believed. He rescued animals. Animals that would be throw-aways for most.Treated them to the extent of his power. "To do good" (kusala kamma)" This was his principle.

Thankyou for removing dis-respectful posts...please do keep us posted on any news updates. Thankyou airbrush fella for your kind words, intuition just rang out and I had to write you. It is so bittersweet for us (my younger brother Richard) to say the final goodbye in traditional thai way but this is what Dale would have wanted. Although not Thai but living as one should. I am currently trying to get to Thailand to attend service with my only other surviving member family and at the same time arranging security due to the circumstances. It should not be this hard or threatening to attend a funeral.

Thats my VERY foggy comment.

To Dale: You did not deserve the fate you suffered. Your trust ran so deep which provided you with "ROSE COLORED GLASSES" so so sorry. Your giving was endless and selfless. Peace to you...till we meet again.

All My Love...Your Sister...dam_n it another good-bye!

BTW

How do you

feel or be safe when at the same time need to grieve attend a funeral and do it traditionally Thai, because you know what he believed. ???

I don't know why I am on this site but I felt the need to after reading some of the heartless crap 'wayward thai farang nutters' come up with.

Dale Henry was a mans man. An absoulte gentleman with not a mean streak in his body. He never had a bad word to say about anybody. His heart was ten times bigger than the brainless comedians who think these forums are for sharing their tactless wit.

I new Dale in Ranong for many years. We shared many a cold beer and funny story together. He provided his wife with everything, and her family and her friends. But not enough obviously. I have just heard that the mongrel family has been to his house and taken most of what was left worth value. Their own guilt will eventualy catch up with them.

Please take a moment to consider that Dale was human, like the rest of us, he was not perfect but neither am I. What he was was loyal, honest, decent, and sadly, blinded by love. He chose Thailand as his home because he loved Thai people, their kindness, their compassion. Unfortunately, he cocked up with that bitch of a wife. He could not see through her but I could.

I have met Dales brother Richard, but I haven't met the rest of the family and I see some on this forum. I would like you all to know that Dale was happy. I had some beers with him over Christmas and the New Year. He loved his life, he enjoyed it to the fullest (his way). He had many dreams. He and I planned many schemes and scams whilst having a cold one but never went through with any of them. Most of the fun was planning them. I will be having a beer or two for Dale over the next few days.

Rest peacefully Dale. This incident will NEVER be forgotten.
