half-Thai child moving to Thailand with Thai mom
stupidfarang replied to JimmyB81's topic in Family and Children
IMO I would focus on the childs wellbeing which IMO would be better served in the UK. Unless married you have no legal standing with the child, the courts in Thailand will not recognise you. Fighting over a house to be placed in your childs name is peanuts compared to the welfare of your daughter during this sepration process which will all be nice and calm until the mother and daughter are back in Thailand.. I live in Thailand and have a daughter (4 year old) and I assure you the education system is not great here and a university degree is not worth much outside of Thailand. I am already planning on sending my daughter to a university back in the UK when the time comes. Iam not in your position (partner and I are togeather) but know about the legal pitfalls here in Thailand and if and when you ever get togeather with another women, then look out as the ex will not be happy. -
half-Thai child moving to Thailand with Thai mom
stupidfarang replied to JimmyB81's topic in Family and Children
You need to talk with a Thai lawyer, in Thailand if you are not married to the mother then you have no legal rights at all. I strongly suggest that you sort everything legally before your child goes to Thailand, I would not let the mother take the child on a "holiday" to Thailand as once there you have no hope of sortinging anything. If you are serious about the childs future you may wish to think about keeping the child in the UK as the school system is better and a better future. Focus on what is best for the child, do not argue, go for custody in the UK. To be honest I would not trust the mother at all if you already have been abusede, plus she knows that she has to keep everything calm until she gets to Thailand then she is in the stronger position of doing nothing and not letting you see your daughter. -

stupidfarang replied to Social Media's topic in World News
"Mass deportation will be a labor-market disruption celebrated by American workers, who will now be offered higher wages with better benefits to fill these jobs" So once he has deported the workers, americans will rush to fill the jobs picking in the agricultural and service sectors? They are dreaming, migrants are doing these jobs as amreicans do not want to. Plus will this mean stop, search, i.d anyone of colour on the streets of the USA? -

Mate needs advise on moving to Thailand
stupidfarang replied to Aussie999's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Surat Thani has an immigration office, หมู่ที่ 2 41/12 Thung Rang, Kanchanadit District, Surat Thani 84290, Thailand just google it for directions. Do not know about visa agent. Need to look at the new Tax the Government is bringing in to see how it will affect his income. If he has a gf here then tell him to not give loans to her or the family, if he wants to buy a house, better to buy a condo in his own name. A gf in thailand is a very easy way to go broke. Better to rent for a while and see if Surat Thani works for him. -
How do you deal with requests for money .
stupidfarang replied to tomgreen's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Simple answer just say no. Never get into lending or giving money regardless as who it is. -
If you were married to her when the child was born that would help, not suggesting you marry her now. shift99 has goos advice, and keep calm and civil. Wish you all the best.

Obtaining an International Driving Permit
stupidfarang replied to GuyDow's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Before you go to BKK, check that you have had a Thai licence for the full five years, as when I went to get an international licence all was good until they seen that I had not had the full five years on my Thai licence (had 4 years 8 months) so they would not issuse me one and the first two year Thai licence is not counted. -

She will need to learn to drive UK style and follow the road laws, no Thai style driving in the UK. Key points would be: stay within the road lines Do not go over the yellow centre lines Learn how round abouts actually work. No over taking when there is traffic coming towards you. Stay within the speed limit.

Thai-Chinese high-speed railway agreements near completion
stupidfarang replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
This is happening in many countries, who needs to go to war when you can take over by soft power, i.e money leanding. When the countries default then Chinese companies take over the running of the ports, railways etc.. Other ways they take over is we buy goods on line from Lazada, it is shipped arrives in Thailand then is delivered to you by Kerry, the chain from start to finish is China owned and the profits go back to China. There have been a number of well written reports on how China's loans are effecting the countries, here is a link to one from May 2023. https://apnews.com/article/china-debt-banking-loans-financial-developing-countries-collapse-8df6f9fac3e1e758d0e6d8d5dfbd3ed6 -
Thai-Chinese high-speed railway agreements near completion
stupidfarang replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
In Chumphon province the Chinese are building huge warehouses from which they buy durian from the farmers and then ship back by chinses shipping containers to China. Soft takeover of the durian trade, I guess in a few years local buyers will be squeezed out and it will be a typical chinses operation from start to finish with all profits back to China, not good for Thailand. Once the train line is upgraded it will I guess go by rail direct. -
Being pressured to pay off wife's mother's large debt.
stupidfarang replied to Aust24R's topic in Family and Children
Four months left on your contract, stick with the contract would be my advice, gives you time to focus on work and time to get over what is happening. I know from experince that if a partner is seeing other men, that will not change plus you say she has asked for a divorce so you know already she is not staying. Life will get better. -
what a load of rubbish, you are saying it was all her fault? Why do you keep spreading these "if she had remained faithful" comments, what facts do you have? Can a person not be escorted back to her hotel by a friend? To be honest your comments are disgusting and victim blaming, you are a very sad excuse for a human to make comments about a person who has been murdered and is unable to defend themselves against your repeated comments.
