  1. She will be fine in both directions, but a Thai passport can be got almost same day in BKK. My daughter's UK passport took 11 weeks to get, also in BKK. Do NOT apply for the UK one, because she will not be able to travel on the old one from the day she applies for a renewal. Don't forget it's international/UK summer hols, so things might take at least 11 weeks.
  2. Before everyone get carried away, I think the truth is that each person has their own reason, and that there are several groups with similar reasons.. most mentioned above,
  3. UPDATE It's all good. ???????????????????????????????????? She flew yesterday and (with a brief visit to the A380 First Class lounge) is the safe hands of Emirates. Thanks anyway to all those who offered worthwhile input. ????????????????????????
  4. Typical Thai bullying. I do not for one minute believe that all 23 kids damaged the door. But this is what Thai teachers do. They punish all the kids (not always bad) but the innocent kids are too scared to dob their classmates in. Let's face it, the kid/kids who smashed the door might be happy to hurt another kid. It's such a shame that CCTV hasn't been invented yet, or is too expensive to install and use..... oh hang on a minute!
  5. "allegations that it was operating illegally and had no right to serve alcohol. " shouldn't be allegations. It's surely black and white! They either can or can't legally serve booze.
  6. I go online and the website ufa1919.com or something like that. When you click it's horrible. Loud adverts and popups... but choose your match and go to full screen and it's then great.
  7. Thanks. It was tongue in cheek. I was just joking.
  8. Good luck guys and gals! May the best team win! ????????????????????????????
  9. And now a 22-year old Thai lady in Bangkok has it. Of course, she got it from dirty farang, because according to a report that includes quotes from the wonderful Dr. OPas, "The patient is a woman with a record of visiting entertainment venues popular with foreign tourists." ????????????
  10. Have any members had to replace the rear tyre of a Yamaha Aerox? It's a 140 section, so plenty of rubber means a higher price than other scooters. Mine has a slow puncture and I waited until the 16k service, which was yesterday. They said they'd have to order it and the price (including some bits he mumbled that I didn't hear) was 2,200B! That sounds too much for me. I would be happy to pay 1,000B or thereabouts. Thanks in advance.
  11. My wife and her family call me ee-kwai but I don't know what it means. They said it's a term of great respect but I can't find an accurate translation.
  12. How is it possible to 'look like a European'? Aussies, Kiwis, Safies, Yanks and Canadians are mainly Caucasian but not European. Many people born and bred in Europe have African or Asian ethnicity. Anyway, he sounds like an English teacher. ????????????
  13. 20!!! We got what we wanted. We met expectations! ???????????????????????????????????????? Now, do we relax and be happy with that, or act like a bar girl (or most Thai women) and now want MORE!? ????????????????
  14. In nearly 23 years I have been to PatPong less than 10 times. A lot less. As for Nana, I have lost count. It is so much better in so many ways... in my opinion anyway. Watching the circus from the entrance is funny, but I have been the circus more times than I know. It's also difficult to sit and watch from the outside bars when their beer prices are no longer cheaper than inside.
  15. 17 teams ain't bad... 20 would be nice. ????
  16. Guys, the first match is Friday night, meaning from when I write this, there's little more than 36 hours to go. We don't want to hear 'Do I get a handicap for joining late?' ????????????????
  17. I believe she flies today and I'm confident all will be fine. I'm told she applied through the correct channels and has parted with no money. She was invited to Chiang Mai for workshops etc. She's tall, attractive, bilingual, good with people and has experience in hospitality and a bachelor's degree. I'm hoping to report good news within 24 hours. ???????? Thanks for all comments thus far. ????????
  18. Thanks Bruno. You win. I'm a moron. I hope you've enjoyed our exchange. Me changing my wording was an attempt to clarify my point and meanings for your understanding. You're convinced you're correct, and will never accept otherwise, and I hope you sleep well tonight. If others on here agree with you, or even if anyone cares, I'll also sleep soundly. It's all here in black and white. ☝️ Don't forget my offer of a romantic cheese chase, but it needs to be local to me. ????
  19. You really need to get out more, Bruno. Will they let you out? And I've been up since 5am, my old mate! ???????????????????? This forum is for members to share views. We don't all drive the same car, drink the same beer or bang the same bar girl or boy, so we all have slightly different lives, tastes, needs and opinions. The transition from butter to cheese is (in my opinion) more 'extreme' as one cheese brand to another. Forgive me if you read my post as claiming the prices & sizes of Cathedral were identical to Mainland. I bought 500g Mainland and (from internet research that you appear to love) I show evidence of it being available in 250g portions. I just gave my PERSONAL EXPERIENCE of buying a large portion of cheese for a much-better 'Baht/gram ratio' compared to its smaller brother (can I say that, or is cheese gender neutral?) in my local franchised shops. If you'd like to escort me to my local Tops, Villa and Makro we can check together. Maybe along the way we can hold hands, and chat about other important things in life like quantum physics or religion.
  20. This is getting a bit tiresome. ???? - I bought the cheese that I took a picture of IN MAKRO. And I just had some for lunch. ???? - This thread is about butter, as you pointed out to another member, so maybe we're both breaking your thread rules. ???? - Various sizes of smaller portions are available in Thailand, including 250g. Now, the last time I picked up a calculator or abacus, 500 was exactly double 250, not even 'almost.' You have no idea what smaller size I'm comparing to, or what price I paid for either that or the larger one. Have a great day, Sherlock. ????????????
  21. Well, if we are being pedantic, please remember to quote my word 'almost' and research properly
  22. I wonder how much fossil fuel was used to get/pump water to extinguish the fire? ???????? Of course on top of the fossil fuel to build the scooter and its factory, and charge it... and if it hadn't caught fire what to do with it when its life is over? I guess landfill.
