  1. Like children....... Both of you are probably well aware that American English tends to use a z in many words like this whereas more traditional British spelling uses an s........ from your link above @Moonlover
  2. Yes I remember the discussion on this earlier this year.
  3. From the link All just for him.....how many can you use at the same time........
  4. Presumably only if he was named on the birth certificate?
  5. Hop on over to one of the "tax" threads please and give everybody the benefit of your advice. They have been getting a little stale.........
  6. Seconded. Are some of those pics from a drone? My one big worry with the house so I took out and have had for over 10 years. Unlike in the UK the premium has stayed the same other than when I reduced some individual contents...... Overall cost is relatively small for the piece of mind.
  7. Not Lazada but this may be better - or not....... https://www.premiumcdkeys.com/products/microsoft-windows-10-professional-retail-key Presumably if you had Pro before you do not have a record of the original key?
  8. Was in a L&H branch yesterday. They had a flyer offering various fixed term amounts including 18 months at 1.85% and 11 months at 2.1%. However on the latter I did not double check if usable for Immigration purposes so DOYR.
  9. You missed the point of my reply to the OP. I don't disagree with your overall comments.
  10. Suggest you check out the OP's comments in other taxation threads - which is what mine referred to. You are obviously ignorant of those.......
  11. As others have said contact the bank and see what they say. I did this years ago with another bank and had to send a signed fax at the time. With telephone banking and relevant security questions I am sure there is a way to send whatever amount you want. Ask your bank!
  12. Depends how they wish to view it - and if they want to get down to that level of detail. I think it was @Mike Lister who posted this ref in another link - how HMRC UK view it as one example - https://www.gov.uk/hmrc-internal-manuals/residence-domicile-and-remittance-basis/rdrm33520
  13. As someone who, in many of the tax threads, keeps saying that if you live here you should expect to pay taxes surely you will be filling in a tax return if you live here more than 180 days in a year......... One such comment - (not necessarily the right context but it has been a fairly consistent theme with you)
  14. Well unless my weather station is faulty (very possible) it is reading 31 now in central/north Pattaya - 9.37am..... I thought I read only a couple of days ago that this cold front was going away and it was getting warmer again............? In fact it was here but looks like only for a day on a re-read
  15. I am sure you are aware but for others you cannot use them to transfer out of Thailand.
  16. Presumably because you have gone over the 20k interest level? Depending on the end of year figure just put it in your tax return - except it may then cost you more than 15%.........
  17. Unless you have given them a TIN I am surprised they are not taking it already. Remember it is a withholding tax so depending on your tax position you can try to reclaim........
  18. If your deposit is in cash some of the banks charge you a %age. Standard fees for a TT. Bangkok Bank link - https://www.bangkokbank.com/-/media/files/personal/other-services/branch-services/international-branches/fcd_expat.pdf?la=en&hash=1B0B689C0A49EEFBB89232262CF1DAF23FC55920 I would suggest the OP look up the others to see what they require - SCB/Kasikorn etc.
  19. So simplistically why not just give them, in the other countries, your UK NI number and as long as you have agreed with HMRC that you are non resident for tax it will not matter what information the other places send to HMRC ....... As far as I am aware as a UK tax non-resident the only capital gains you are liable for would be on any property transactions. https://www.gov.uk/capital-gains-tax/what-you-pay-it-on
  20. This is the bit that made me smile - from the linked article - How many of your Thai partners were aware of this and knew how to comment...........
  21. Not really. Tax residency depends on individual rules from each country's revenue service. As an example Thailand is simply more than 180 days a year but the UK definition is considerably more involved. Part of the UK/Thailand DTA fiscal domicile definition - https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/507424/uk-thailand-dtc180281_-_in_force.pdf
  22. I think ukrules well knows what it is in this context. The issue is does the OP.........?
  23. You are only tax resident here if spending 180 days or more in Thailand across a calendar year. So simplistically yes. What CRS forms? Do you mean your home country banks asking for details of tax residency or something else? CRS is something completely separate to the proposed change to the Thai tax rules.
