  1. Soi Chaiaphum (spelling?) - runs parallel and in between Lengkee and Excite.
  2. A bit of a generalisation............ I have both so please tell me how I am being scammed or give us some examples..........
  3. No, No, he said Jomtien beach.......
  4. Actually you could argue it is an interesting moral dilemma...... If I had been the OP I think I may have taken the ear phone out initially to hear what was said so there would have been no confusion........not to say I would not have then refused under similar circumstances however
  5. If that was how you expressed it to her than not surprised. It may be taxable but if you brought the money into Thailand say in January 2024 or 2025 any tax payable is not due until you file the relevant return between January and March in the following year......The bank (currently) would have little to do with it. Most banks have a limit after which they contact the account holder - at least in my experience.
  6. You are officially a tax resident in Thailand if you spend 180 days or more per calendar year here. That is 100% true......Doesn't matter if working or not. Talk initially was about taxing what is remitted to Thailand so not necessarily all your foreign income although there have been some more recent noises about doing so since the initial announcement.
  7. Can you or @Mutt Daeng tell me where you downloaded this from as cannot see it on PB or 1337? - or rather can only see individual episodes on 1337
  8. Thanks - my favourite series bar none. Just hope S05 is as good as the preceding.
  9. You could try talking to Thai Euro Law - office in the soi that runs parallel to Pattaya Tai behind Big C on Suk. I haven't used them for a while but presume still there. Rina is the Filapino wife to the Thai lawyer - so should be no comprehension issues.
  10. Unfortunately a visit back home is liable to cost more than the potential tax and you are supposed to declare anything over $15k equivalent if bringing into Thailand.........
  11. The original idea was to tax remittances into Thailand if you are tax resident here. Nothing to do with income kept outside the country.
  12. I am presuming your broker is based in Thailand? If so are they just ignoring the regulations which suggest they should not be offering up International based insurers - I am basing this on several comments in other threads by @Etaoin Shrdlu and my own experience (and others) with AA Insurance brokers? It may just be that AA were bought out by a larger company who did not want to take any risk and smaller independent brokers will just carry on. Agreed - presumably local to you in Thailand?
  13. No. Apparently some offices won't take it anyway - according to some previous reports on AN. Just make sure it is signed and witnessed correctly.
  14. So had the parents reported him missing..........?
  15. So is walking across the road....... There is always risk but if you bank with SCB and want to make payments online you unfortunately now have no choice other than to use their app. I don't like it and even had to buy a new phone because of it - otherwise becomes very inconvenient. A well respected and occasional poster on here (sorry can't recall his exact posting name) works for Bangkok Bank currently in that area and he would probably disagree with you. You may have the technical nouse to secure your pc and online behaviour but unfortunately many don't and for them, whether online on a pc or a phone, there is always a risk.
  16. So with your 30 years of experience please explain how a scammer just by calling someone was "supposedly" able to freeze their account? IMO either a lot of information has been left out or as one poster suggested it is made up.
  17. It is if you don't want to use a router at all - which is what he asked earlier and I replied hence his comment.........
  18. In theory that should be possible - but you would be limited to that one connection and no others........no phone or other person connecting the same time as you. Search online to see comments about this. That is why normally the ISP supplies a modem/router combo which will also likely have options to have a separate guest network/firewall controls etc. for multiple attachments.
  19. You don't say where you are or what speed that is for so no ideas on value. Both AIS and 3BB/True here in Pattaya have bring your own device offers which you can see on their web sites - in English. AIS - https://www.ais.th/en/consumers/fibre/package/byod
  20. Is that Tinglish I presume you mean bridge mode?
  21. Thanks I was going to look and hadn't realised they had gone up that much. I am sure last lot I bought in the UK 2 years ago was no more than £15........ I may have to reconsider.
  22. The ads will stop showing yes..... But if you still have Google/alexa/Siri/Cortana/idrive etc enabled all your info is potentially theirs...........
  23. Yes I was looking at them in Central Pattaya the other day - 5 pack for about 17/1800 baht....... Any idea how much in the UK now?
  24. Yes the ones being discussed earlier based on the HH pic are considered as "small" breakfasts
