accompanied by a rise in disposable income that occurred over several decades and a lot more use of scooters and less walking and bicycling.

I assume that you think the restriction is by the Thai government. There are several entities involved in the money transfer. The restriction could be a choice by Wise or the participating Thai bank(s). Since different Thai banks have differing restrictions, I lean toward the limit being the bank's choice.

I was given a small compressor that plugs into a cigarette lighter and I shipped it over from US in our container. When I brought it out the other day the plastic coiled hose had deteriorated badly and fell apart. I see Global House has what looks to be a suitable replacement for <200฿ .

My very well used Yamaha has a slow leak in both tires so I have to top up often. The gas stations with air stations often have a sink for cleaning up afterwards. The other day I had a brainstorm albeit a small one. I had a plastic bag in the storage under my seat so I took it out and put some water in it from the nearby sink. I poured the water over the muffler because I have to access the tire valve from that side. Now, I am far less likely to get a burn from the muffler while filling the tire.

Does the USA really always get its man?

I managed to slip through their fingers a few times when I was young and pot was illegal. -
It's been a couple of years since I last compared transfers using Wise to transfers using SWIFT. That comparison assumed it costs $25 in SWIFT fees and 500฿ by the Thai bank to receive the transfer. At that time the Wise fees were somewhat lower than today. Using SWIFT right now sending $23K (includes $25 fee) to Bangkok bank will give you 841,304฿ Sending $23K via Wise will give you 842,211฿ if you do your own ACH transfer to Wise first with no fee. It looks like if you send about US$25K or more SWIFT will be slightly better.. otherwise use Wise.

I only buy basic ingredients.... pretty much zero processed foods so I have no idea in pricing of those. The Thai noodles we order every other week did increase from 40฿ to 50฿ from Nov. '20 to this last week.

I filed as a professional gambler for 20 years. My tax return was very similar to what a sole proprietor of a small business would submit. Yes, I declare my self-employment income on Schedule SE. The IRS has never asked for any documentation but that may be because I often received a W-2G from the casino when winning a larger sum either in cash or cheque. A W-2G is only issued by an authorized gambling establishment and only notifies the government of a payment but does not prove income. You may want to consider getting someone to issue a 1099 to you as proof of payment for some service/product. I know very little about that process. I hope you're successful in gaining your 3 credits.

This probably occurred because some of your items have no import duty while others do.

Either you didn't read the article or your reading comprehension is very poor. The explanation in the article is accurate and stated very clearly. Come one... .. fess up.... you just blasted out an opinion you formed without any knowledge. -
Buffalo’s Road Death Sparks Chaos in Chiang Mai, Four Injured

The buffalo is much less annoying than those bikes without a muffler. -
I don't understand what you want. AFAIK, for desktop/laptop computers, no banks use anything other than a browser to interface to their internet banking service that resides on the mainframe/server(s) in their data center. The browser only handles the interface to the user and does none of the processing required to perform any banking function. All the logic processing, input verification and security processing is done on the server. Therefor, there are no desktop/laptop banking applications. The browser merely fulfills its role of formatting and displaying the information it receives (as html) from the banking application over the data connection to the bank's data center.

It does make sense if you are able to do the conversion and pay very little tax or none at all. In my case COVID made most of my income disappear and if those opportunities ever re-appeared I would have already moved to Thailand. I was collecting only a small amount of pension so my annual income was low and I was living on accumulated after tax savings. In that case I had unused income exemptions. Near the end of the tax year I knew exactly what my taxable income would be so I topped up my income using Roth conversion to the maximum tax free amount. All the benefits of Roth conversion with no tax. I could have just made normal qualified IRA distributions (also with no tax) but I still wanted the benefit of tax free growth in a Roth. The only downside to my conversion was I would have to wait until the 5th tax year (really only 4 elapsed years) to withdraw from the Roth without penalty.

The only circumstances where SSA has a "substantial earnings" requirement is for reducing the impact of the WEP (Windfall Elimination Provision) on a person's retirement benefit. A very small percentage of those receiving SSA benefits are impacted by WEP.... unfortunately I'm one of them. To earn a single credit for 2024 requires income of $1,730. That figure rises every year... it was $1,640 for 2023. I earned 1 credit in 2020 on income of just over $1,700 which was the year COVID shutdowns led to my retirement.

no neutral line in light switch... recommended practice to add
gamb00ler replied to gamb00ler's topic in The Electrical Forum
The circuit I need to use at the light socket looks fairly simple to make. It requires 2 diodes, 1 fusible resistor, 1 regular resistor and a capacitor. I've never done any soldering so I would like to hire someone to make 3 or 4 of these circuits. What kind of shop should I look for in CM to fabricate these simple circuits? I'm attaching a schematic and a picture of a completed circuit.
