  1. Sound like Evergrande's biggest talent is lying. They are going down the drain. Bloomberg Markets and Finance: Evergrande Misses Two Debt Payments. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-GBc4N7fw8
  2. We are in the eye of the storm, but it will most likely blow over by end of October. Check again later, if we are still alive!
  3. Not so sure about that. Evergrande is about to default on their dollar loans and I don't think Beijing is interested in spending their foreign reserve on pleasing some international investors. Beijing might want to help Evergrande so the 1.5 million home owners with half finished condos don't go bananas, but at the safe time they might shaft the international investors. Let's see in the next few weeks.
  4. I see. Maybe DHL is not as bad as I initially thought. A few threads on this site gave examples of how DHL charge storage fees and don't deliver the last mile. Hopefully my stuff will make it to the US.
  5. 15% is reasonable, but I have heard so many horror stories about DHL, so I am having it shipped to the US and a friend will hand carry it in. Hopefully there is no or little tax in the US. It is about $400. Did you have to pay and collect it at a local DHL office or did they deliver direct to you?
  6. What penaltie should they then get for murder? Months later, Cook and Gerard were arrested and pleaded guilty to killing another foreigner living in Thailand, Wayne Rodney Schneider.
  7. Anyone every considered the Honda ADV? I just saw it for the first time and it looks like a very nice bike.
  8. How many Thais have a motorcycle license? Outside of the big cities you pretty much see everyone jump on a bike to run some local errands, many are not old enough to have graduated anything.
  9. It would be interesting to get numbers for vehicles fires per million or billion miles driven for both gasoline and electric cars. Arson subtracted of course.
  10. We might get more cheap stuff that breaks down faster, but what if the price is less freedom of speech and more surveillance, both online and with face recognition cameras at every street corner? Scary new world order. I like the old model.
  11. Is everything still open on Samui? Koh Tao is takeaway only and shop at the door.
  12. From Beijing's point of view Thailand is falling nicely in line and moving forward as per the master plan. Hight speed train and online commerce is just the first part in the takeover. More to come. We are redundant in this new world order.
  13. The auto approval is great but it is screaming to high heaven how redundant and unnecessary the whole 90 days report system is. Get rid of the darn thing Immigration and do us all a favor.
  14. That is excellent news. Was the 90 days report done then and there with the same immigration officer that did your extension or did you have to go to that little corner room? I wonder if they will also take the 2,000 fine and reset my 90 days report when it is time for my extension, as I am skipping the whole 90 days reporting thing for now.
  15. Mr. Sansiri should be watching what is happening with his biggest customer base. Evergrade is Ever-bankrupt now. DW News: What's behind the collapse of Chinese property development giant Evergrande? | DW News. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vI7SbVEa8ys
  16. Here is a follow up to a murder in Thailand. https://www.thaiexaminer.com/thai-news-foreigners/2020/02/15/norwegian-roger-bullman-phuket-hotel-death-amital-bajaj-speaks-tv-hiding-asia/
