We see stories about jealous Thai guys about other Thai guys in the news. And there are stories about farangs jealous about other farangs. I can't remember reading or hearing a story where a Thai guy and a farang guy desired the same woman. It seems most of the time we have different taste. And then there are Miss Thailand and similar competitions. I can't remember any good comments from farangs about the white winners.

One of the worst are payments for (motorcycle) parking. One of those horrible systems is in Central World. Get the ticket with a QR code. Later go with that ticket to some screen. Scan that QR code and see another QR code so that you can use your banking app to pay 10 THB. And then drive out using the paper with the original QR code. And then there are several service people nearby who explain this system to everybody. And people have to wait because other don't know how they system works. I miss the good old times when I just paid 10B cash.

And then there is that bug coffee shop where you can't pay cash even if you want to.

How long have you been here? And you are still surprised that they didn't understand your sarcastic North Korea joke. That tells us a lot more about you than those Thais you complain about. Many countries want the money of the tourists. They don't really want the tourist. I understand them, living here for decades I see too many annoying tourists.

Some of us have to learn that we have different groups of people we meet. Intellectuals, especially female intellectuals, normally don't mix with pretty young girls. Personally, I have meetings with smart old women, all is fine. And I see cute young girls, and all is fine. But I never mix them together.

There is an easy solution. Tell him to pick up another one which is younger and prettier and spend a lot of money on the new one and make sure the ex sees what you do. Enjoy!

If it a modern AC then probably it's not just a bulb which has to be replaced. LEDs fail very seldom.

It seems the heaters which are designated as shower heaters are supposed to have a constant temperature. I use the heater which I mentioned above for my kitchen sink and my bathroom bathtub and shower. In the kitchen I have an ordinary mixer of hot and cold water. If I put it to max hot the water is very hot - just about possible to touch but I wouldn't leave my hand under the flowing hot water. In the bathroom I use a faucet with a thermostat. At least the one I use, from TOTO, works perfect.

I am not a plumber so the following is only my personal experience. I prepared the drain from my bathroom sink, I think it is a 1" pipe. I thought first I look if it fits, and I put the pipe inside another pipe in the wall without seal. My plan was to test it first and then seal it later. I made sure there is a slope. Then I opened the water and the water flowed freely through the drain without any water coming out. I kept it like that without any seal and it works fine - since months.

Define "best"! Like: Free flow champagne and you don't care about the price? Or all you can eat for 200B? Or what is on your mind?

Many of us are in Thailand because it is different from "home", which is mostly somewhere in "the west". Yes, Thailand is different, in many ways. What should change: Thailand should be just like the west - then why would you come? Thailand should be Thailand in some ways, but like the west in ways I want it to be. - Really Thailand is Thailand. Accept it. Obviously, I also noticed problems with opening times and lots of other things which are not perfect. Do I want to wait until they "improve" their lazy behavior? Or is it so much better to just accept Thailand is Thailand.

Thanks Unfortunately, I think the high prices in many places are what they need. Obviously, most of us like to pay less, but often those businesses pay huge amounts of rent and other payments, so they need the income from the drinks.
