I could have called this topic: Do you want to apply for my ignore list? And for the record: I like to hear other people opinions - if they have a clue what they are talking about. Just: "you stupid, I smart" is not good enough. But then, my expectation about Americans is not very high these days.

Do people learn how to use capital letters in American schools?

Did you try to look it up? Obviously not, otherwise you would keep quiet or apologize for misusing words. You can protest as much as you want. Better learn before you embarrass yourself even more.

Why would anybody try to explain something to you which you could easily look up? The question is not how you define certain words. The question is how they are defined in well-established dictionaries.

I find it annoying when I read posts here when many people have no idea what they are writing about. Some of those words which are constantly misused are: socialism, communism, Marxism, pedophiles I understand that not everybody knows all words, i.e. I would also have to look up the differences between communism and Marxism. But some people use words just completely wrong. And if I/we tell them that they use words incorrectly, then it seems most people just don't care. Are you also annoyed by people who don't know the words they use? What do you do in such situations? Do you try to correct people who use wrong words?

Thanks The last time the police stopped me was years ago. The worst I ever paid (cash) was 200B. Normally 100B. And at the police station a couple of times 400B. So, I am not too concerned about fines.

It's bad enough that you don't know what you are writing about. But why show everybody how ignorant you are? Maybe just look it up in a private moment where you don't feel too embarrassed when you learn those words.

It's interesting reading all the comments here. Bernie, according to Bernie, has lots of politics which many ordinary Americans support with majority. Health care for all (a lot cheaper than now), higher minimum wages, etc. And he, and his supporters, don't want to support a system where the 3 richest American people (3 people, not 3%) own more than the poorest half of American people. Are these ideas really too socialist for you all? Do you prefer a bad and expensive health system where the pharma companies and insurance companies make all the money? Do you prefer low minimum wages where people have problem to survive? And do you think Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates should own more than about 170,000,000 people together?

It seems to me he is a decent guy. That makes him already a very good choice compared to anybody else.

I am just watching this interview. There is one smart American out there who cares for the people. And then America ends up with the bad alternatives Trump and Harris. What a sad country! P.S.: Obviously that is not the first I heard of Bernie Sanders. This interview is a strong reminder of the situation.

That makes sense. And if Porsche suggests that the way it should be then follow whatever they suggest. If you don't do that, then you might lose warranty. And people who like to buy such a car (whenever you want to sell it) prefer cars which are serviced according to the book - including detailed invoices.

I think one problem is that if there is a spicy scale from 0 to 100 many Thais would consider everything below, let's say, 30 not spicy. They can't really understand that anybody would think that is spicy. A couple of year ago my sister visited me in Thailand. We were in a hotel restaurant, and she wanted to eat something not spicy. We all agreed green curry is not spicy. So, she ordered green curry. And she thought it was so spicy that she couldn't eat it. I tried it, and I couldn't detect anything spicy. So, it seems, we adjust after a while.

I also live in a high tourist area in the middle of Bangkok. But here are enough locals to have not only tourist rip-off prices.

My bike is fine - except an aftermarket exhaust. In the past I always asked the dealer where I bought it (with that exhaust) and who does the service for me to do the tax. I don't know if he changes the exhaust to the original for the inspection - he never told me or charged me for it. Anyhow, you all convinced me that I should just do it. Because if there is a possible problem with the insurance, that is obviously a problem which should be avoided.

Let's say my gf orders SomTam. Maybe there will be 20 chilies in there. It's too hot for me to eat. If I would ask them to make it less spicy, and they would only have 10 chilies, it's still too spicy for me. And if they would put only one chili in SomTam, then it would still be spicy (for "western" taste). And of course it wouldn't be SomTam anymore. It's like ordering a mushroom salad without mushrooms. It doesn't make any sense!

I know there are high and low IQ people on both sides. But Trump and MAGA supporters are obviously mentally challenged. Why else would they vote for a moron?

I guess sometimes it's great to be stupid. Stupid people don't know how stupid they are. And they "think" everybody else is stupid.

I have the government insurance. I can just tell an agent to renew it for me. I transfer money and receive the insurance document per mail. Because my bike is older than 5 years it has to be presented and inspected when taxes are paid. Why didn't I do it? Simple answer: because I was lazy and didn't think it's important. The insurance is important, that's why I renewed that one.
