  1. Sometime somewhere I read about a case where a young American couple had sex in California. When they split up, he sued her because he was only 17 at that time and she already 18. I think I remember he won that lawsuit.
  2. It seems all (home) printers today are designed to sell you more after you bought the printer. Don't expect much quality, or even full ink tanks or toner, from any of them.
  3. Do you have lots of experience with repairing bikes? Otherwise I would look for a person who has experience with exactly that bike. Many years ago, I had a Honda VFR400. I had some problems where I had no idea what it could be. I knew a specialist who worked all the time on those bikes. For him, it was a typical case of xyz. He just knew, because he did it so often. Try to find such a guy.
  4. This is the entrance to one of the slum areas in Bangkok. In the unlikely event that anybody would walk into that entrance area it is pretty obvious that you should stay out - even if there is no sign. I bring my gf from time to time to that entrance on my bike. She visits an old woman there and brings her sometimes food and medication. I guess by now they know her and "know" me. A short visit at daytime is no problem. But I wouldn't go in there alone at night. Would bad things happen? I don't know. But it looks sinister enough to forget about any adventures.
  5. I think I saw a sign warning of pickpocket thieves in Sukhumvit Soi 11 or nearby. They should add another sign warning about aggressive ladyboys.
  6. Transformers are used for all kinds of devices and easy to find. Ask in electronic shops i.e. in Ban Mo, Chinatown. Make sure you bring your old transformer or a picture of the label, so people know what "size" you need.
  7. I see the traffic, and the SkyTrain, when I look out of my windows. But I don't hear any of it because I am far above it. We also have no mosquitos in high floors. The only downside I see is that I need 5min in the lift from my condominium door until I am out of the building. But I can live with that.
  8. Have a closer look and you will see nobody will fall down the outside of the building even if they would get out of the swimming pool.
  9. The USA is obviously the best democracy money can buy. They are not a shining example how to do it right.
  10. It's nice to have a fantastic view night and day.
  11. Maybe you should have a closer look at the infinity edge. Only because it looks like you will fall in the abys doesn't mean this is the case. Most likely you would fall less than a meter and then a barrier will stop you from falling further. The following is not a good example, but it shows the concept.
  12. I am sure the street hustlers will be impressed with your behavior. Does it feel you better when you do that? For 5min or is it a high for the rest of the day?
  13. What a stupid comment. Look up the definition of "pedos" and you should be able to find out that >=15 has nothing to do with that. I suggest just control your own behavior and don't give useless advice to other people.
  14. I would say it's a start. Have you considered other "games"? I suggest have a look at the following two games/simulations. They are both a lot of fun and you can use your brain to optimize everything. Warning: Don't play Factorio if you are not retired. It is very addictive. Anno 1800 is also kind of addictive but not as bad as Factorio.
  15. It's easy: Thais walk in the shade. Tourists walk in the sun.
  16. They did this to me when I lived at least since 10 years in Thailand, and likely I spoke with the ticket counter person in Thai. I am sure with (new) tourists it's worse.
  17. So maybe you should not torture his dogs. Your neighbor is the problem, the dogs just do what dogs do. And just in case your little device doesn't work one day, maybe the dogs will do more of what they do...
  18. Not really. It depends a lot on where you are and the people who are in those locations. I am regularly in multiple restaurants without these problems. And where I live mostly it is civilized in the floors, the lifts, and the corridors in between.
  19. I just thought: What do I or did I talk about with girls in bars? I don't really know, we just talk. And then there is the thing with the chemistry - for no better word for that. With some people we can just talk and talk and talk, it doesn't really matter about what, we just talk. And with others there is nothing, or almost nothing to talk about. Obviously, that can be a question of education, culture, intelligence and all that. But sometimes it just is. Why? I don't know.
  20. Some people just don't like it. You can't do that! Good people don't do that. And other BS like that.
  21. In another tread members talk about buying property in Thailand and noisy neighbors. Did you ever have noisy neighbors in Thailand? Could you solve this by yourself with the neighbor? Did you let the security people or management handle this? Was it so bad that you moved out? Personally, I had a long time ago a noisy neighbor. I let it slide a few times and then I just called the security of the building, every time he started noise again in the middle of the night. I don't remember how long it took, but maybe max one month later the problem was solved. How about you?
  22. Do you have an impression if this happens mostly in cheap condominiums or maybe also in HiSo places where some HiSo people think they can get away with that? I live in a condominium with about 500 units in Bangkok and it seems that we have problems like that only very seldom. Rent range roughly about 10k to 30k per month, in the middle of lower Sukhumvit.
