Is the main breaker a RCCD? I think they can be identified because they have the little test button. RCCBs break if there is just a little "problem" with the current. MCBs break because of large overload.

Pheu Thai Party defends ethics in political face-off
OneMoreFarang replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Maybe your "all over the world" is more limited than you think. There are countries out there where political parties throw out the bad guys in their own party because they don't want that the public identifies a "good" party but one or a few bad people. -
Drive (a bar girl) from Pattaya to Burriam. Help.
OneMoreFarang replied to advancebooking's topic in Pattaya
There might be some people who grew up with maps and never (had to) use Google maps or something similar. Until about 15 years ago most of us used maps, for many years, and it worked just fine. -
Drive (a bar girl) from Pattaya to Burriam. Help.

Maybe you are not qualified for the job. Google maps is really sooooo complicated. Maybe ask her if she has a brother who can help her. -
A friend just told me about a water leak in his apartment. He knew where the water came out of the wall, but not where the leak is. He hired a plumber and what that plumber did was that he listened (I think with a device) on the wall and floor. Listen here, listen there, ah, there is the leak. After he detected the leak in that way, he removed the tiles, and the leak was exactly there. I guess something like that might also work outdoors.

Come on, you can't look at any minor little issue. 😉 -
Pheu Thai Party defends ethics in political face-off

Imagine politicians must have a clean background. Including no family members with a checkered past. How many of Thai politicians would be qualified? -
Absolutely no! For best sound quality speakers should be away from walls, depending on who you ask about a meter or more. And stands should have "little surface". I.e. bricks might be very stable, but having a pile of bricks under the speakers is not a good idea. This is an example about a good speaker placement.

How often do you get your ACs cleaned?
OneMoreFarang replied to scubascuba3's topic in General Topics
Related to how often you get it cleaned, if you do it yourself (in part), do you use any AC cleaning spray or something like that? Or maybe soap to clean the filter? Until now I remove the (nylon?) filter screens and clean them with water. In my kitchen I also have to use soap because they are a little greasy. How about you? -
My rabbits jump around all night, in part on our bed. Before dawn they crawl under the bed to sleep. They normally wake up again early afternoon.

Air conditioning is effecting my sleep
OneMoreFarang replied to DonniePeverley's topic in Health and Medicine
At daytime my AC is mostly set to 24 degrees, the air flow to automatic sweeping left and right and up and down. Sometimes I feel a breeze of air over my skin, nice. At nighttime I set it to 21 or 22 degrees but air only coming out of the AC horizontally along the ceiling so that the cool air is "coming down". That is comfortable for sleep and not disturbing. Luckily my AC is very quiet, even on normal setting. About the air quality, one reason might be a dirty AC. Maybe visible, maybe not. An AC which blows "dirty air" all over the room is certainly not good. -
I understand what you are saying, and I am sure for some people it is like that. For me, and I am pretty sure for my friend, it is just what we feel comfortable with. I.e. if I go out on a Friday night and return maybe 1am, I am still likely to wake up early, 7am would be "late". It's unlikely that I have anything important to do on a Saturday morning, but I still like to be awake at that time. My friend just doesn't feel like going to be before midnight. And that was also the case when he was still working and forced to wake up early. For me it's like that more or less my whole life, and I think for him it's the same. In my case my gf and I have about the same pattern for weaking up and going to bed, great. In case of my friend, his wife is not the same.
-
It seems to me that is up to each individual. I just woke up, at 6am, because the sun rises. Most of the time I wake up when the sun rises, I like it. A good friend wakes up regularly at noon and it mostly active until the early hours. He likes that. Now he is retired. When he had to work, he used an alarm to wake up just early enough to get into the office in time. And then he was tired in the office in the morning. I was never productive after the sunset. I don't think we can easily change what we like - even if we want.

A long time ago in a country far away I had an employment contract. I worked but the employer didn't pay me. So, I started the judicial process, and I hired a lawyer. I don't remember the details, but I am pretty sure my lawyer presented the case in a way that I had a valid employment contract according to this and that law. And the employer should have paid me within x days according to this and that law. And because the employer didn't pay now, we use law a and b to ask for payment withing y days. There are lots of laws involved. I.e. if we go to a restaurant and eat then we know we have to pay. Why? I don't really know, but I am sure there is a law for that. And that law has a name, number, paragraph, whatever. And in front of a judge, it is not good enough to say: He eat the food and now he has to pay. The argument will be something like: By ordering the food he agreed to law x and according the law y he has to pay. Except maybe if he brings up law z which will be a reason why he didn't have to pay. That's how courts work all over the world.
-
Let's just assume for a minute that that would happen. And then maybe the lawyer of the guy who you think should pay tells the judge that because of paragraph x and y he didn't pay. And then? Do you think the judge will then argue for you? Or your "digital interpreter" will suggest something? That sounds a little naive to me. Maybe in a couple of years AI can do all that. But I am pretty sure until now it cannot. And somehow, I would be surprised if a Thai judge would have a lot of patience in such a case.
-
Does this "digital interpreter" also know all relevant laws? And does it understand "court language"? As far as I know that is not the same as proper Thai language.

I am not so sure if there is an official answer to that question. Whenever a visa is extended there are questions, and the immigration want answers. In my case the immigration wanted pictures from the office. We gave them pictures of the office, and they didn't like those pictures, and then we made other arrangements... In case of your friend, they might ask how he can work in Thailand if he is not in Thailand. And they might accept an answer, or they might not accept it and give him some other conditions what he needs to renew the visa. A good visa agent is obviously a good idea, but I think there is nothing certain about a case like this. After all, TiT.

Then I guess that the "electricity" in the name is the hint we should take.

Try this: Chipolo ONE Point for Google's Find My Device app - Chipolo Important, they have a couple of products with very similar names. If you want the one which works with Android and no additional app, then get the one above.

I think to be fair, next week there should be at the same location a donut week. And then let's compare how many people show up to each event. 😉- 1 reply

Do you owe money?

Should I feel bad because others can't control themselves? For me personally the "points" are free. -

One motorcycle dealer in Thailand offered me 1.5% some time ago. I thought that sounds great. And then he said that is the monthly rate...
