Green sea turtle helps nurture a baby dugong in Dong Tarn Bay area
phetphet replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Unfortunately, now the news is out, we will probably see that fishermen have caught and killed a Green Turtle and its unusual companion, a baby Dugong. Let's hope not. -
I know a few Russians. Just normal people. friendly and polite. But. I have a friend who was married to a Russian (that didn't last long) and even spent some time there. He told me that too much politeness, please and thank you is seen as a sign of weakness and they will treat you accordingly. How true that is, I don't know.

Nut. Is that her name? Or a warning she is crazy? ????

For each licence. Car & Motorbike. Passport & copy of passport ID page Residence Certificate Old Licence Medical Certificate. i think that's it, but there may be more. You can Google it. Oh and dress smart. I have seen people turned away at my local DMV centre for dressing scruffy. i usually just wear long trousers and a polo shirt.

Affordable camper van coming to Thailand
phetphet replied to CLW's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
One of those Aussie pick ups kitted out with solar and a good tent would be better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7IKlS8Z2Nc -
Affordable camper van coming to Thailand

I think that is the new electric VW camper. Looks great, but how to charge it out in the wilds? -
Affordable camper van coming to Thailand
phetphet replied to CLW's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
With that side opening, it looks more like a burger van than a camper. ???? Seriously though, I don't think there is much of a market for camper vans here in Thailand. Accommodation being available pretty much everywhere from downright cheap and up. Quite a few campsites (for tents) though. -
Famous English Singer Sam Smith visits Samui Island
phetphet replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
I think that was The Graham Norton Show last week. Regardless of his personal life or sexuality, he is a very talented singer with I believe a four octave range. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqqOZbMWesI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhREiAarjVY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jzDnsjYv9A -
The captchas I get are only with Google.

Gentle giant is tied up and tortured as punishment !

Pity the elephant didn't break free and trample them. Some people just don't deserve to be on this Earth. -
I went to Samui immigration last week and it was packed with mainly Russians. Mostly younger ones looking around or under 35 years old. Singles, couples and some families. All probably renewing or extending their visas. Given the choice of Russia right now, with winter and Putin's war, or sunny Samui, I know where I would rather be. Many seem to be here for the long haul, as many Russian children enrolled in the local international schools.

I do have a VPN, but I don't keep it on all the time. In fact the first thing I checked when I started getting the captchas was that it was off. Funnily enough, after being on DuckDuckGo for several days, I just changed my browser search engine back to Google, did some searches, and so far no Captchas. Weird.

I agree. it's not easy to find cotton t-shirts etc in most Thai shops. Maybe in the big malls in Bangkok, but even there you have to search. As for all the synthetic stuff, It's a marketing ploy by the manufacturers to charge fortunes for what is basically polyester. They now call it "Technical fibre", and even the big fashion houses use it to make most of their clothing nowadays. Best to find a shop that sells materials, like this one on corner of Sukhumvit Soi 14 or 16. Can't remember. Couple of minutes walk from Asok. On the corner where you turn to Benjakitti Park. https://www.facebook.com/hyhfabric Then find a tailor to make your shirts. Or order on the internet. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=100+percent+cotton+polo+shirts+for+men&crid=BTHQ4QF1YXNN&sprefix=100%+cotton+polo+for+men%2Caps%2C342&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_1_24

We all know about the various different parking areas in Central, limiting use to specific groups; VIP, Exclusive, Family, Pets, Women, Supercars, Superbikes etc. I might have missed one or two. Well on a visit on Saturday, I noticed a new one. It seems they are building an EV charging station parking area. Pretty soon I will have to buy an electric Ferrari, take the girlfriend, daughter, and the dog when I go shopping. Just to get a chance of parking. What next? Ladyboy parking?

Nor have I until about a month ago. When all of a sudden, every Google search on my iPhone requires me to complete one or more Captchas. Either that or I get a message along the lines of "detected suspicious activity from your IP address. Please try again later." There is an option on iPhones that is supposed to prevent or reduce this, but it doesn't work for me. See below: You can turn this bypass on or off. Go to Settings > [your name] > Password & Security, then turn Automatic Verification on or off.

Samui 2023 - Whats happening !
phetphet replied to khunPer's topic in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
Back in the old location by the look of things. They were doing it all up (Sound Club) when I passed by there last week. KhunPer probably still sleeping after two nights of closing and opening parties. ???? -
I have recently had to stop using it due to constantly being asked to tick Captcha boxes with every search. I tried every remedy that I could find on the internet, without success. In the end I changed browser search engine to DuckDuckGo.

Looking at that beach photo in the article, I can see it is only 'near full capacity'. There are still a few patches of sand that don't have deckchairs on them. ????

Phuket Elephant Camp Businesses Ready for Chinese Tourists

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought "Elephant Buffet." ????
