kingstonkid replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
No body runs for the leadership of a political party without visions of being head of the government. However hereis the ral oke “If the government is performing, no one can take that position from them," This present government has not performed except as monkeys looking for a banana. I just wanted to let you know that nothing has been passed. The country financially is a mess. The education deputy can't write in Thai They have a convicted Thai running the country. -

Forget about Tarrifs, the other problem is for those of us who are retired, transferring in money gets tighter. Last year 3k cdn got over 72k baht now it is just brely above 65k That really sucks Also I agree that it is going to affect exports butnot sure about tourism we are still pretty cheap compared to other Asian countries and have a lot to offer. The governemnt has to get solid and actually start doing things. Would love to see the Budget bill get defeated in August. -
Report Thai Police Dismiss British Teen’s Drug Smuggling Claims
kingstonkid replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
You seem to be missing the plot. Thai police hae footage of everyone that walks almost anywhere inThailand it is called CCTV ; they have it at all immigration lines. So yes they are watching her but not anymore than they are watching you or me if we are going anywhere by plane. As to the scars, they can be self-administered if she gets caught. Notice the defence lawyer showed a bruise not a burn scar. You do not get bruises from heating irons. This young lady is in a world of hurt. She is going to have to come clean and pray that they do not give her the max to set an example. Her child is going to be born in Georgia, which will be interesting to see what happens there. -
Report Thailand's Casino Bill Faces Collapse Amid Public Outcry
kingstonkid replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The problem is that there is so much corruption in Thailand not just in the government but also in the off-site illegal gambling business. Governments here are more interested in winning elections and pandering to the people. Again, if you set up an entertainment complex without gambling, show that it works and is a good thing, then apply for a casino. The government has jumped in and done very little. The elite do not want things changed and do not want the boat or their control to be altered. Hence, the agreement with Thaksin, whom they have always felt is the devil to them. I agree that a casino is not a bd thing but the underlying rules and corruption is what scares most peoplealong with the damage that it would do to the illegal gambling dens. The proof is the stupid rule that a person has to have a huge bank account and pay a huge fee to get in. -

The casino is an issue but an entertainment complex minus the casino could be a good thing. If they can get MGM or such to build it and set it up it might attract more families and eventually they may be able to move into the casino at a later time. -

The entertainment complex is a good idea. Even the casino would be good if corruption was not a problem. Many countries have casinos that raise large amounts of tax dollars. They problem here is no legitimate casino operator is going to want to get involved with thai government -

The funny thing is that you can take all their wealth, remove them from their businesses and give all the money to the poor. Guess what would happen within 3 years. The poor will be poor and these families will have it all back. -

They screwed up with the twitter feed. You do not post anything racy there. Then again, has anyone looked at FACEBOOK lately? The joke is that the girls will probably pay the fines, still make a ton of money, and do it more carefully. -

I think the idea behind this is to get rid of some of the small shops or Kiosk like the one across frm NANA plaza or the vans parked along Suk 11. What I find interesting is the picture that they used. That place has had an on-duty doctor for at least a year and a half so I think we know which owner has the clout LOL -
Politics Anutin Denies Interim PM Discussions Amid Political Speculation
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The elites and military. They brought PTP into power as the lesser of 2 evils. They thought they could make a deal withThaksin that would benefit them. Everyone knew the deal would eventually fall apart. Thaksin punishing Chidcob by removing backing to Buriram and then working to get the F1 in Bangkok, not at Buriram, started the ball rolling. Thaksin did not stay at home with the grandkids, but has proven himself to be the voice and head of the government. His daughter has shown that she is worse than his sister was and is totally useless on a foreign leader's front. The casino and the way the country is going financially are wrong, and they know they have to think after the phone call that the government is moving in a way that is not good for the country. Consider that the area they are discussing has been like that for a long time. Why is it so important now? If possible for the good of the country, I can see the leite trying to broker a deal with PP that would have them in power but Anutin as the leader so that they can get the experience. It is doubtful but it is the oly way to not have to go to an election and watch the military parties and teh DEMS disappear. PP will gain power and could get enough seats not to need a coalition with a major party. That would definitely be harmful to the elites -

It could be a way to keep away from elections if they can get either the PTP or the PP to agree. -

Tourism Pattaya's New Tourist Tide: Indian Visitors Stir Up Debate
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
@PingRoundTheWorld You are missing the big reason that people are ot coming as much. It has very little to do with what Thailand has to offer, BUT it has a lot to do with the economy in countries. People often lack the funds to take big trips. We hear people talking about how the SS world is not paying enough, and that people have so much debt. Most of us long-time expats live here with restrictions, but we can still live here even with increases. As to Chinese in Pattaya really the only people making money are some hotels and restaurants. Chinese tour groups aren ot funding walking street or Bukhao. I know this may seem like heresy but they need to shut down walking street and revamp it so that it is open for business and having a running business on the street that tourists would be interested in. Starbucks or a large coffee chain having a location on the water in place of one of the bars would be a good thing. -
Crime British Teen Claims Torture in Thailand During Georgia Court Hearing

I don't think it isw hate as much as it is frustration with stupid people. Let's face it, travelling to the Philippines and then to Thailand and Tbilisi with a suitcase that you have no idea the contents with a passport, airline ticket and money to do a favour for a friend, she is either very stupid or very desperate. -

During the pre-trial in Tbilisi, Culley tearfully explained she was coerced into the crime, highlighting her ambition to become a nurse and her clean drug tests. That means that she is not a user. Most mules are not, Sorry but I think that this is the best story that she could use and it is not a good enough one to get her off. She would be better off naming names as to who gave her the rugs/suitcase who paid for her ticket etc -

But anyne that can afford her is going to ask what the trade in or appresiation level is there. There would have to be a lot of things in the contract. Health Beauty, expectations, English language ability. Business expecations (hey if she wants to sell her body all the power to her but if there is a good business deal that needs a little extra LOL ) Being a sugar daddy is one thing those are short-term 4-year arrangements that usually pay for the university., In this case, she is looking for lifestyle money, and after 6 months, she could take off. OH yeah, one of the things not covered is MARRIAGE. btw the Rolex and Patek are easy. I can buy her that just have to take a walk to NANA or Patpong LOL -

I am willing to bet that you also have to train her in the bedroom. She definitely would not have been interested in any of the boys that she encountered. For a 30k a month, she would have to be able to do a lot of tricks in bed and make me happy, would want to guarantee that she never gets headaches and that she has other means of pleasing me when the monthly curse comes. OH YEAH She pays for the BC pills and I stand and watch her take them.
