  1. Yup
  2. I've noticed more and more 3 and 4 day old featured stories lately. BP seems to be cutting coverage back.
  3. TRAMADOL is generally considered safe if no more than 100mg/ 6hours, 400/24 hours as long as it is not being taken with other drugs that interact negatively or especially with alcohol. There have been reports of Tramadol causing psychosis in some individuals but that usually turns out to have alcohol involved, taken at the same time. I buy ULTRACET (Tramadol 37mg) OTC and take no more than 75 mg/day. Using it for 3 years now for knee pain with no noticeable side effects and no diminishment of effectiveness.
  4. Best to do by QR code. Go through the DeeMoney forms, select QR code and copy to your phone. Open your Thai bank ap, select "SCAN" icon. Your photo page should come up. Tap the scanned QR code and it should show the bank transfer form for the sent amount. Confirm the transfer and save a copy. You should immediately get an email from the email account you registered from Dee Money confirming the transfer. You will also get an email when the recipient collects the money.
  5. I bought a cheap, B400 tower stand from Lazada for a temporary situation. Very flimsy but the "Low" fan speed is actually comfortably low and quiet, nice for sleeping. No longer "temporary" While on fan topic. My bathroom has no fan nor an outlet for a stand fan and can get uncomfortably hot. I bought a couple of small 6" USB fans and power them each with 10,000 mAh power banks. Makes a big difference circulating the air and the battery charge lasts for about 3 weeks as long as I don't forget to turn them off when I leave.
  6. This is the company I was referring to in my post hat helped my friends family with all the funeral arrangements. OP Ultimately, it's the families responsibility and I suggest you refer them to Amarinternational. They are excellent at what they do. My friend also died without a local or US will. The family in the US will have to present a huge amount of documentation and a local executor must be appointed and approved by a Thai court. Even with all that, it's a long haul to get at local assets. The local law industry feeds off of this situation and fees are extremely high and action slow. Many local law firms have upscale Western names and promise a high level of service but all the actual lawyers are Thai.
  7. A Farang body can not be disposed of in any way without a proper "Death Certificate" If the person died in a hospital, they can provide it but usually insist that all outstanding bills be paid first. If the person died at home then it is more complicated as cause of death must be established. Sometimes if it's obviously a result of disease, they will let it go but usually an autopsy is required. The Police must be notified and the deceased's passport be presented. The Police will notify the person's embassy. Have a trusted Thai speaker talk to a local monk at a temple with a crematorium. A bare bones cremation usually costs between 5000 & 10,000 Baht depending on location. For the record, there are local companies that specialize in handling foreigner deaths and take care of virtually everything, all paperwork and funeral arrangements. When my friend died, his family used such a service and were very satisfied with the services provided. Cost was about B40,000
  8. Typical clickbait headline "Malaysians Banned from Entering Thailand" rather than the far more accurate "Malaysians Denied Permission to Exit Malaysia at Thai Border Crossing" I remember an American friend who legitimately worked in Thailand was stopped at BKK airport from boarding an international flight because the immigration computer showed he owed back taxes. Took him a few days to sort out and get the overdue taxes resolved.
  9. Perhaps he had a special amulet rendering him weightless.
  10. One thing I'm not 100% clear on. I believe you have to be able to show the replenishment funds came from an overseas account, just like the original B800K, but, as I said, not 100% certain.
  11. Out of curiosity, I once bit on an unordered COD of 30 Baht. Inside a roll of very thin, useless trash bags. I then began regularly receiving COD's of ever increasing amounts up to several thousand baht all of which I declined. It stopped after a few months
  12. I'm not posting this as a "The Sky is Falling" panic notice but users of generic Android TV boxes should give this a scan, especially if you store any credit or debit card information on the box for services payment. It seems the boxes that use the unlicensed Google services version are thought to be vulnerable. https://arstechnica.com/security/2024/09/researchers-still-dont-know-how-1-3-million-android-streaming-boxes-were-backdoored/
  13. More than 20 years ago, a friend bought an EKTORP 3 cushion sofa At Ikea, close to B20,000 at the time. For 15 years it was the prime sports and movie watching sofa for a group of his friends as he was the first to invest in a 75" TV. When he moved back to the US, the sofa went to another Bangkok friend who still uses it daily: still comfortable and tight after 20+ years of hard use. I always wanted one myself and early last year noticed that IKEA was discontinuing the model and was selling it for B11,000. I bought one (solid color, floral print covers are extra) and love it. Truly large enough for 3 people to comfortably sit, long and comfortable enough for a guest to sleep on without scrunching-up. Design is rather plain: great example of function over form. Worth checking if IKEA still has any for sale.
  14. Are either of these oral medications for toenail fungus available in Thailand?
  15. "Hello? Maryknoll Seminary? Can you make me a priest?"
  16. Some baht buses will reverse their route at Soi Chiyaphreuk where the one-way restriction terminates. They often do this when they have no or very few ongoing passengers.

  18. Not true. You can draw up to 400,000 baht off your deposit 90 days after issuance of the extension. It must be fully replenished at least 60 days prior to next renewal.
  19. One of the benefits of Jomtien is it has enough undeveloped open ground to absorb a lot of torrential rain water, thus floods are rare. Pattaya is so overdeveloped and paved over that there is no place for water to go except as run-off into the streets.
  20. May I suggest you try the REDDIT "Oneplus" forum. It has 250,000 members so answers to your issues should be available. https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/
  21. More than 15 years ago, I bought a small TOSHIBA 6.5kg top load automatic washer. B5999. Probably 4 or 5 loads a week. In those 15 years, one B500 repair. I finally had to replace it a few months ago, not because anything wrong mechanically but the plastic control panel on the top had deteriorated from direct sunlight on the balcony and was becoming unusable. I replaced it with the updated but nearly identical TOSHIBA model, still B5999.
  22. When I had to wear elastic bandages on my leg after an infection, I found that using double stick tape between winds of the bandage at slippage points like the knee worked very well and kept the bandage in place even while walking.
  23. Anybody know if the Bangkok branch of Amorn in Fortune Tower is still open? It's always been in a location pretty far apart from the other electronic shops, far down the hallway. I forget 3rd or 4th floor. I used to browse there often, buying odds and ends but over the last 10 years the quality of what they sold started going downhill and became mostly cheap Chinese junk. I would guess that the fairly sudden emergence of "Mr. DIY" stores everywhere, which carry a lot of the same stuff was the final nail.
  24. Not really. Lazada gives you 7 days to return which is not much time. Once the return window is past, there is not a lot of recourse. I had a problem with the WINDOWS-11 version on a GENMACHINE I purchased. GENMACHINE customer service was very responsive sending me a new WIN-11 key immediately. Often, Lazada products will say "30 Day Warranty" but making good on that can lead to a run-around. Lazada says to contact seller, seller says to contact Lazada....
