Happy Thanksgiving (Thursday)! Whatever your nationality.
Long, long ago in a galaxy far away when the earth was green, we were expected to take an item of foodstuff to school for Harvest Festival, the idea being that it would be distributed to "the needy". My parents ran a confectioners / bakers / grocers shop so a significant amount of (I know now it was approaching time-expired) goodies were donated. I saw a lot of cream cakes, bread, assorted nice stuff, being loaded into teacher's cars. Even then I suspected that "the needy" were going to get ...

In our home the spirit of christmas is Johnny Walker Black!! We do also have a family / village mega party where beer and other spirits are consumed in large quantities!!- PEA / MEA Earth Rod Regulations for EV Wall Charger
12mm2 and 15mm2 are rather odd cable sizes! Are they actually proposing using AWG sizes? It doesn't really matter so long as the ampacity is OK. Anyway, 12mm2 Al is really too small particularly with a continuous load like a car charger. If you are happy with their quote let them get on with it.- Bangkok River Level Thread - 2025

- PEA / MEA Earth Rod Regulations for EV Wall Charger
What size (mm2) is your aluminium cable? If it's adequately sized there should be no reason to replace it with copper. On a 60A breaker they would expect 16mm2 Al or 10mm2 Cu. What size are they proposing? As noted earlier, they likely have a set of specific instructions to follow rather than being actual electricians who can see if what you have is a suitable equivalent. Are they on fixed price from the EVSE supplier or are they expecting you to front more $$$?- PEA / MEA Earth Rod Regulations for EV Wall Charger
I'm not aware of any specific regulations for car chargers other than what is included in the manufacturer's instructions. How far from the house is your car shed? Has a ground wire been run with the supply for the charger? In reality, a local rod isn't going to do any harm and if they want to bash one in just let them. I suspect they have a blanket requirement as so many homes have no or inadequate earthing as built and the EVSE won't function if it doesn't see a decent earth.- Bangkok River Level Thread - 2025

The flooding brought out the zombies, so my son who is visiting from the UK and my Thai grand-daughter had to fight them off! I'm wondering if the 14.5% mead that Andy brought from the UK had anything to do with the arrival of the zombies- Worst Joke Ever 2026

Top of the weekend's highest tide. Not done a Floodcam for a while, not much change really, villagers are still using boats. My oracle says that the flow from the north will reduce, soon. EDIT Apparently the discharge rate of the Chao Phraya dam is now down to 2,688m3/s with the expected rate to be back to the normal 700m3/s by January. Level is about 45cm below worry.- Worst Joke Ever 2026
