  1. Yes, those are indeed cup-holders! Hopefully a Chang can will fit
  2. Our ancient Agsatec mower didn't make it through the flooding, to be honest it was on its last legs anyway. So, time for a new one. The Daewoo products seem to be very reasonably priced https://daewoopowerproducts.com/producto/gasoline-lawnmower-dlm5300sp/ about 11k on Lazada. Any experience? Junk or gem?
  3. Pak Kret high today, definitely on a nicely downwards trend. Puyai Baan has also allowed us to adjust the sandbags in front of our gate so we can get the car in and out ???? So now the big cleanup begins including replacing / fixing Madam's irrigation pumps which haven't reacted well to being under water for 2 weeks + ???? EDIT It looks like the mower didn't make it ???? It's not like there's any grass yet anyway. The mower was on its last legs already having survived over 10 years of abuse.
  4. I don't really know why, but this thread seems to have become a bit of a slanging match. I'm going to lock it. If our OP would like to PM me I will re-open, or he can start a new thread.
  5. High today at Pak Kret, no nasty surprises ???? Should be the last of the biggies, peak tide starts going down from tomorrow ????
  6. It's important to note that electrical regulations and installation practices do vary around the world. What would be perfectly acceptable in the UK may be totally prohibited in, say, Australia. I will say that AS3000 is actually a pretty good fit for Thailand whereas BS7671 has some things which maybe don't work quite as they would "back home". When I lived in Seoul our local pub (yes, The Seoul Pub https://www.trazy.com/spot/2982/seoul-pub-서울펍-nightlife-bar) had the pool rules on the wall, the top line read "We don't care what they do where you come from, this is what you do where you are!".
  7. Madam always wants a tree and flashing lights despite being Buddhist. The 25th is a Sunday this year so I won't be working. We usually have party on the closest Sunday for family and villagers who are not scared of the fat farang ???? Food and alcohol of course but no religious stuff.
  8. @bluejets From here instructionandinstallationmanual_doc-00060852.pdf (page 29) Sorry about the wiggly hilite, it's early ????
  9. Schneider seem to disagree. https://www.se.com/ng/en/faqs/FA282621/ Note that if there is a neutral available on the supply side, just connect it to the N terminal of the RCD and it will work fine. Connnection in 3P RCCB.pdf
  10. Bah, humbug!!
  11. Hmmmm, let me think about that ???? Gary Davies (sitting in for Ken Bruce this week) asked what the worst thing you've ever bought was (this after a guy spent 3 grand UK making Liz Truss doggie chew toys, which were delivered on the day she resigned). https://nypost.com/2022/10/25/david-farquharson-spent4k-making-liz-truss-dog-toys/ One chap bought a truck load of "Monster Munch" at a great price, only to discover it was vanilla ice-cream flavour!
  12. Do these things actually taste as revolting as they sound?? ????
  13. Meanwhile, Madam being Madam is rescuing stranded fish. These are all now residing happily in the goose pond. Her koi are already back in their home.
  14. A quick rinse under the tap and it will be just fine for sale.
  15. Should be about the top of the tide at Pak Kret. About an hour before we peak at the house. EDIT about an hour later Top of the tide at the house.
  16. That would depend upon how long you want to live for in the event of a L-E fault. In reality, with a properly implemented TNC-S (MEN) system you could probably get away without. But ...
  17. I shall have to verify but I'm 99% sure that your BKK card will work just fine in Phuket and vice-versa.
  18. He drives a Monster Truck too
  19. Just a heads-up (I used an agent to do the actual submission) but it's just taken 14 weeks from the date the UK charged my card to my receiving an email saying my new passport is ready for collection. Make sure you are applying in plenty of time, I thought I had but it's still cutting it fine to do my extension renewal.
  20. The first of the bigger (tomorrow and over the weekend is the highest I think) tides has arrived at Pak Kret. Actually looks like there should be no problem, at least for us. Others may be less fortunate ????
  21. Yeah, understand that (at least that's what we are told anyway...). But by the time another renewal comes around the system will have been further "improved" and probably require a physical presence in the office and a stool sample. Over the >40 odd years I've had and renewed my PP (mostly because full) each renewal has been further "streamlined"** which invariably slows it down. Last time I think it was done out of Hong Kong and was reasonably quick (4 weeks ish IIRC). ** The "streamlined" process is invariably less costly, unlike the passport itself.
  22. A max of 1 litre of alcoholic beverages is permitted. There's no mechanism in place to pay duty on any excess (same with the tobacco limits of 200 cigarettes / 250g of pipe/rolling tobacco).
  23. Finally got my email today ???? "Only" 14 weeks since they took the $$$ from my card ???? Totally appalling "service" and the inability to easily track overseas applications is just crazy. I wonder how long it will take in 10 years' time when this one expires. Long, long ago (ok 2001, so this century) I had my PP stolen in Rome (the Italian one). I got a new PP the same day from the embassy! (I was at the gate, police report in hand, when they opened, otherwise it would have been next day)
  24. It can be. But. Without knowing what and where it's impossible to say. Something like our home = brilliant value. Something like the place Madam built for family = major rip-off.
