Works are ongoing in Pattaya, since pre-Covid times, to remedy this problem by removing all this mess and lay cables underground. Pattaya Nua/North Rd and Klang are just a couple of many examples. Is progress a bit slow? Yes, but it is progress nonetheless. Please accept my fulsome apology for introducing facts into another Thai - bashing thread.

It is parking space for the coaches that will bring the thousands of Chinese tourists .... whenever that may be.

The story is one of the headliners on the BBC World News website, so presumably this is international news. One would imagine if there is any jiggerypokery with bail, appeals and escaping over the border that too will make news globally. This fella's crime is getting caught on film. All the rest appears to be standard operating procedure.

Deutsch Haus, the German restaurant at J of Soi 4 & Pattaya Beach Rd, has been closed for about a year and is now being demolished. It is a very good location, what will replace it? Just further along Beach Rd, heading towards Soi 5, a new Hot Dog place has recently opened. I haven't tried it yet but temptation will surely get the better of me soon.

Looks good apart from the green thing. Nothing green should ever appear on a cooked breakfast, especially bubble & squeak.

I hope you are able to find somewhere where you can charge your device if your battery gets low. Owners don't mind a bit; you are making the place look busy after all; even if you are only spending peanuts over the course of a few hours.

I am getting the same, started today; it is intensely annoying. Is this one of @george's new ideas for the site? Hope not, needs ditching PDQ.

Look for Big Fat Besty on YouTube who has several recent hotel reviews including Avani and Barracuda among others. He pays particular attention to brekkies; he isn't called Big Fat Besty for nothing. Prices are likely to be higher at weekend.

We used this service during a Covid lull. Seatbelts mandatory on the minibus and excellent drivers, it took about 3 hours without stops or changes. Good place for a mini-break with plenty to see and do both sides of the river.

... so you are complaining about people complaining. It does indeed go on and on.

The Tourist Police are operating at night on Walking Street from a desk they have set up; you could ask them directly how to proceed. Good luck to you. I believe these volunteers are a valuable resource. If you get hired, be sure to advise Indians wearing gold necklaces to remove them.????

It is good and getting better. Walking St is a bit pricey, Soi Buakhao; and sois off; is cheaper and plenty of choice.

Would they take the dog?

Adam Judd from The Pattaya News was on Bryan Flower's YT channel last night talking about this topic. He said that CCTV footage did not contradict accounts given by the Indian victims of such crimes. He also said that Indians were unique in that they are the only nationality who actually ask the media to cover their stories. They have no problem having their names and photos broadcast accross the media. Western tourists, on the other hand, do not want any media coverage out of shame, embarrassment or fear of employers, friends and relatives finding out where they are and the company they are keeping. Many do not even report crimes of this nature to the police for these reasons.

Trying to find a good condo is getting tougher in Pattaya

Well, if you leave "the Beverley Hills of Pattaya" you can only go downhill from there. -
I was posting about nightclubs and gogos on Walking St in Pattaya owned by Indians and Chinese. Not sure what relevance supermarkets in Bangkok have to this thread but hey-ho.
