EricTh replied to Bobthegimp's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The US and UK no longer issue income letters to their citizens? Is Canada still doing that? -

Does anybody know where I can get some genuine leather sofa at reasonable prices around Chiang Mai? Preferably a shop that can customize to our needs.

Usually those which offer online classes do not provide education visa. The government need to scrutinize those schools which actually teach students versus those visa mills 'schools' where students hardly attend. One that I recommend is Learn Thai with Mod, she can do it online. https://learnthaiwithmod.com/online-group-lessons/ They speak good English unlike many of the Thai teachers that I know.

Welcome to Thailand - where the customer is usually wrong!
EricTh replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
I made two reviews on two different products that I ordered via Lazada recently. The one company that had a good review from me was published while the other company didn't publish my bad review post. It seems that Lazada isn't being totally honest with customers opinions by publishing only good reviews. It's quite misleading -
I did show them my tax ID the day I opened my account. They said there is no such service because NO tax will ever be deducted from this account. When I didn't believe what one staff was saying, another counter staff came in to confirm what he said. They even said only the Fixed Deposit accounts have withholding tax. So much for the confirmation and assurance from them. I don't know whether I should go scold the staff or laugh at them.

Should Thailand buy oil and gas from Russia and Iran?
EricTh replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The oil price now is too expensive. Thailand should start buying cheaper oil from whichever country they want. That should bring down oil prices -
I opened my SCB easy online account many months ago, I even asked the staff regarding the 'no withholding tax' stuff but alas last month, I had a 15% tax deducted from my account. So SCB staff really don't know what is going on, they even assured me many times that my tax will not be deducted when I opened my account. The incompetency in Thailand is astonishing, different people will tell us different things.

Leading Thai doctors calling for mask mandate to be reinstated
EricTh replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I noticed that Thai eatery owners like to put fans right next to dining table. Don't they know that the virus gets spread farther if someone sneezes when the fan blows. They don't even know why there is social distancing in the first place. I did explain to them not to put fans blowing, but they couldn't understand how virus spreads. -

Another flip-flop from Thailand again. What next? Close the borders and reinstate Thailand Pass? Come on, we have to live with the virus, this can't go on for another 10 years. -
Insurance firms cheated out of ฿500m in fake COVID-19 insurance claims
EricTh replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
That's why the reported Covid cases must be lower that it actually is due to these false claims. -

I wonder why Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore were left out of his tour? -
Bummer! Just when the travel restrictions have just been lifted.

So we can't have residencies in two cities? How did they check anyway? The solution is to buy a motorbike at the city that you lives most of the time, and rent a motorbike at the city that you live less often. I live mostly in Chiang Mai but would like to rent a bike when I go to Bangkok. How much is the rental there anyway?

The same thing is happening to Malaysia , that's why it banned export of chickens to Singapore.
