Short small diameter wires with 16A fuse?
Brilliant. That CE mark says it all plus the other glyphs. I can safely say that with those conformancy markings that device should not catch fire. Also in the tear down section of the video, I think I caught sight of a pcb mounted fuse. It is double insulated according to the triangle with the circle and tick mark inside. So from the viewpoint of electric shock safety everything is fine. With regards to isolation, what I was referring to is the internal circuitry between AC mains and low voltage DC supply for the processor etc.

Short small diameter wires with 16A fuse?
I just had a look at the video of the similar looking "Shelly" device and notice there are a number of things missing in the writing on the front of the unit of the OP device. Chinese Copy?

Short small diameter wires with 16A fuse?
I wouldn't rely on that unless it actually had words to that effect in the spec. That unit seems vey small to have any isolation between AC and processor. Does it have any conformancy spec numbers on the back like UL for example?

Short small diameter wires with 16A fuse?
OK so the in-line fuse is the right way to go and the fuse needs to be rated for the current of the light plus background power of the Wi-Fi switch. I am personally content to hike over to the switch to operate it or better still get my missus to do it. ????

Short small diameter wires with 16A fuse?
I would fit one of these in-line fuses in the live wire. https://shopee.co.th/กระบอกฟิวส์-5x20-mm-ใส่ฟิวส์หลอดแก้ว-In-Line-fuse-holder-i.561759750.18751433394?sp_atk=114860b4-86b4-4e45-a220-9da377b67d84&xptdk=114860b4-86b4-4e45-a220-9da377b67d84 There is a possible fire hazard in the "Shelly" (what's that?) if an internal component should fail. Does the "Shelly" have any internal protection?

Home ceiling insulations: PE Foam Insulation Type recommended?
Insulation generally will absolutely reduce heat entering the house in Thailand and, of course, reduce heat loss in a cold country. The ceiling loft space is responsible for something like 25% of energy loss. The more insulation used the better but watch out for something called diminishing returns. PE Foam is probably quite good although I prefer and have installed the quilted fiberglass. The result is what it's all about. My thinking is that there is more air in the 6" thick fiberglass so it should be a better insulator. Also the aluminium foil keeps that air from moving and stops the weight of dust from eventually collapsing the fiberglass. It is a case of personal preference which to choose I think. I found this helpful site which you might like to look at. https://www.greenbuildingadvisor.com/green-basics/insulation-overview-2#:~:text=ABOUT INSULATION&text=The thermal barrier of a,cutting heat loss in half. "Doubling the thickness of insulation will double the insulation’s R-value, cutting heat loss in half. Each time the insulation layer is doubled in thickness, this rule applies. The energy saved per year by doubling insulation from R-10 to R-20, however, will be considerably more than the energy saved by doubling insulation from R-20 to R-40, because of the law of diminishing returns. In some cases, like an attic, it’s worth piling on more insulation because there is plenty of room. It’s much more expensive to add that much insulation to exterior walls."

should we get cremated?
Interesting post. What is your source of information please. This from Wiki Cremated remains are mostly dry calcium phosphates with some minor minerals, such as salts of sodium and potassium. Sulfur and most carbon are driven off as oxidized gases during the process, although about 1–4% of carbon remains[63] as carbonate.

All good stuff but how come, in this day of mainly healthy old folk, the retirement age is 60? I know of some who are still fit and healthy enough at 80.

should we get cremated?
Yeah, but 6' down does nothing for top soil.

should we get cremated?
Yep. Carbon is good. Ban burning 'cause of climate change.

Building a new house in Isaan
Very true. I have 4", 6" and 1/2" pipes all been cooking nicely out in the sun for the past 11 years. All faded to a very pale blue but still all in one piece. Probably good for many more years yet.

Yeah. My insurance company does the running around for me for a charge of 100 Baht on top of the insurance premium, road worthiness test and tax. All done and dusted in a couple of days.

You are welcome to be as difficult as you want. My vernier caliper is OK to 1/100th mm. Not calibrated but measures accurately on known other items. It's digital. Roundness was tested and found to be ........... round.
