3 children rescued in Bangkok after being abused by babysitter - video
LukKrueng replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Why would you? -
A few years ago someone sent me carpeting samples. He sent it by EMS and clearly stated these are samples and have no commercial value. Customs wanted a big sum of money as taxes and VAT. I went to the post office holding center, asked them to open the 2 parcels and see for themselves. They were reluctant and said it must have value or otherwise it wouldn't be sent by EMS but by a much cheaper means of transport. After they opened it and saw it was only samples they let it go. So your best option is to go there in person (not you, your wife obviously) and argue the case that it is not a medical product. Maybe suggest to class it as a cosmetic product, pay some duty and take it home.

No need for a lawyer. I bought 3 properties through a real estate agent and a 4th property directly from seller, and recently sold 1 directly to the buyer without an agent\lowyer. As you're married to a Thai woman, she should be able to read and understand what's going on. Things you have to do before buying: 1. Get a copy of the chanot, go to the relevant land office and check if the title is a freehold or had any debt\leaes or other issues that might prevent the selling of the property. 2. Check the boundaries of the property to make sure they match the chanot. 3. If the seller wants a deposit, write a contract with all the agreed upon conditions (total price, who pays the fees for the transfer of the title, time frame to complete the deal). 4. Set an appointment with the seller at the land office. Seller and buyer have to present their ID card, and if married the spouse has to sign a consent for the sell\buy. Seller has to bring the original chanot. At the land office they will check all documents and get both parties to sign a sell\buy agreement form (this happens whether or not you already signed another agreement between the 2 parties). Once the officer ok's all the documents whoever has to pay the fees goes to the cashier and brings the receipt back to the officer. The officer will ask the seller if they got paid on full for the property (full payment should be made after the officer approved all the docs) and then the officer will put the buyer's name on the chanot and give you a copy of the sell\buy agreement. Congrats, your wife is now the owner of the property. On a side note - agents fee is normally 3% of the sell price, and a lawyer shouldn't charge more than that as well.

First of all - I feel your pain. We went through a similar situation last year. Our dog lost his appetite and started to lose weight. Vet diagnosed a liver infection and started with medications, IV, special diet. I consulted a vet overseas who told me immediately that there's nothing to do but put the dog to sleep. The vets here in Thailand said he still had a chance of getting over it and as I was reluctant to put him to sleep I went along with their recommendations. The dog was hospitalised for a long time and kept getting worse. 3 times I have decided that it's time to let him go, and every time he seemed to improve a little and the vets convinced me to wait. As they couldn't do much at the hospital we took him back home, and on the next visit to the vet I told her that as his condition gets worse and there's no real quality of life for him maybe it's time for goodbye. Apparently my wife want ready to give up on him so we took him back home with little, but some hope. The vet told me that she already discussed with the other vets who took care of our dog, and she will be the 1 to put him to sleep of it comes to that, and said to call the hospital and ask for her when we decide. Few days later my wife realized that we arrived at the end of the road and he's got no joy left as he couldn't even stand. We called the vet and she scheduled is for next day. About an hour later our beloved dog passed at home. Reflecting on what had happened, I realized we should have put him down much earlier to save him all the pain and suffering. I don't know where you are at, but I'm sure you'll be able to find a kind vet that will help stop your dog's suffering. If you have in your area a branch of Thonglor pet hospital try them.

That's the point. According to the article they were supposed to transit only on Singapore, a country known for their intolerance for any drugs. That way when they arrive Europe they hope the local authorities will be less alert for drugs as the flight arrived from Singapore -

Last year, in another country I was visiting, a particular chain of fashion shops had a promotion: 3 items of any kind in some categories are sold for 1000 Baht. I found 2 items I wanted, and as it would have been more than the 1000 Baht for these items out of the promotion, I selected 1 more item so I can get into the promotion. Went to the cashier to pay, and was asked for my membership card, which of course I didn't have. So he asked me to wait and took the next customer up. She was a member. So after he finished charging her, he asked for her approval and used her membership to ring my items. I was happy to get the discount, he was very helpful, and she was nice to allow it. If she got credit points for my items - I'd be happy for her, not upset with her!

Now that you're experienced already, you should tell them upfront you want the phone unchecked and you are willing to sign for it as is. See what they say and then decide if you buy it out not

Actually on my phone it was much better with the old look. Now the headline fonts are so big that I have to scroll down much more to see the content. Personally I also liked the order of the old digitally: featured, local news, international new. A great addition would be to clearly mark those infomercials. -
What do you mean your wife got automatic citizenship? Every country has its own set of rules. If you want to bring a foreign wife to the UK you have to show about 90k pounds in your bank (according to a post I saw on an last week), I know it's easier for the EU but there's always a process involved and mostly not so cheap either. In Thailand anyone can become a PR - all you have to do if follow the guidelines. You can also gain Thai citizenship. Those 500k people that are going to get citizenship are mostly tribal people with no other citizenship, and some people from neighbouring countries that as was explained in the article share similar traditions and ways of life to Thai people. Face it, Thailand is not an immigrants based country like the US, Canada, Australia and NZ. look what happens in Europe now, after they've let all those refugees in. Thailand wants to stay the land of the Thais and there's nothing wrong with it. Most expats that live here know that before they even come here and they still come.
