Nok is still flying, just not to Buriram. I see their planes zip past my window many times every day, with the very recognizable design. Flew with them domestic, and planes were hit and miss, some looked like new, others really needed new seats (though leg space is way larger in Nok than it is with Air Asia, and I believe same or more than Thai planes used for domestic routes). But as they have a Boeing 737 fleet, I'm less inclined to choose them than those using Airbus A320, like Thai or Air Asia.

Possible. I wonder how much you'll like your manual bicycle that replaces it... -

Worst Joke Ever 2025

This one reminds me... Back in the day, maybe 25 years ago, I was sitting at a certain Mall.... waiting for my pizza for way over an hour. Pulled out the mobile phone I just bought and called the delivery number of the restaurant, then ordered same pizza. At the end I told them I wasn't home but need to send it to a different address... their shop at the Mall, complete with table number. I got a "could you please wait a moment"... phone rang in the kitchen... a head popped out of the kitchen looking at me for a moment, then ran back in, and phone operator said pizza will be with me within 10 minutes. It was. Along with manager's apology, and bill waived. Not sure it was worth a wait but it was surely memorable moment... -
Bangkok Streets to Undergo Significant Improvements
tomazbodner replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Bangkok pavements are actually good. I know this will trigger many, but go say to The Mall Ngamwongwan, and walk from there back towards Bangkok. You'll know immediately when you left Nonthaburi and reached Bangkok. Obviously they are far from perfect, but compared to neighbouring province... it's day and night difference. -
Books. In the past a few other things, I guess.

Hearing her say that (her aunt told the same to Western Digital and Honda in 2011 for Ayutthaya.... remember that?) I'm hoping 30+ floor is high enough... -

Maybe clarification. The capacitor itself would have cost me about 300 baht off Lazada, but I wasn't going to open up aircon compressor myself to replace it. Symptoms of broken capacitor: - air is not cold, looks like just internal fan is running - there is water dripping from flaps on the inner unit of aircon - sometimes it's hot air blowing inside and cooler air on the compressor - fan isn't running or is running very slowly outside Some larger compressors are designed so that anyone can replace capacitor - a couple of screws to remove front plate, pull one out, another one in, replace the plate. That was the case on 28k BTU unit. But on smaller 18k BTU unit, which was in the center of 3 compressors, the technician really earned his money by having to dismantle entire box to get to capacitor. So it depends - you can go to Shopee or Lazada to buy it - check the current capacitor size and replace it yourself (it would be good idea to cut power to aircon before you touch anything inside), or else call the aircon service company, which would charge you probably around 1500 baht total for the replacement and part. https://shopee.co.th/product/634411534/21971951040

Capacitor (starter) can is about 1500 baht, give or take, and is pretty standard on different brands of aircons. Had 2 of them replaced recently on different sized aircons, always 1500 baht... including service.

Four Charges Filed Against Driver in Bus Fire That Killed 23

Maybe gas was leaking for a long time and was already in the interior of the bus, just awaiting for the spark... When you look at the bus itself front and back it was barely damaged. So any leaky gas tanks or pipes are not terribly likely to happen during the accident, but this was just an accident waiting to happen due to shoddy maintenance and probably original work. There were another group of students on same bus a day or 2 earlier, who complained of faul smell inside the bus. I guess they were lucky ones. -

Have you seen it on the inside? That alone is enough for me to stay away from ATTO3. Now BYD Seal on the other hand... -

It's NIO not NEO. Thank you. And yes, the article was about the same - apparently NIO is opening a factory in Hungary to build these battery exchange stations. -

I'm quite happy that prices are dropping so hopefully these loud pickups leaving a mile of black smoke behind will one day be a thing of the past. Now seeing a nearly silent bus or car driving past is a good thing, at least in the city, and I hope this continues. Though only part of the price drop is increase in production and with that lowering prices of components, especially battery cost which in past 3 years dropped about 70%, the other part are government subsidies. And those who bought BYD cars before price drop - you got free charging for a year or 2, so while you paid more, you're now driving around for free. Interesting was the article (in non-English news) about NEO car... Apparently it allows the whole battery kit to be removed and replaced with another within 3 minutes. You can buy a car with or without battery - with a latter option is to lease battery. Kind of like Coway water filter or air cleaner - you pay monthly rent on battery which NEO would replace if anything goes wrong, and it's 20k EUR cheaper purchase price that way. It is an expensive car at 90k EUR in Germany, though. But just that part - of replacing the whole 150 kWh battery pack within 3 minutes sounds interesting. That's the main beef some posters have with electric cars... -
