  1. Surely all extensions by the officers who worked on those criminals will be scrutinized, then probably many others checked with demands to see all conditions were fulfilled, before some draconian measures are added to conditions. Wonder how it'll go down for those who don't meet requirements and are using agents to arrange stuff upcountry...
  2. I find it quite funny how many foreigners are cheering for a party of which program and actions include making it as hard as possible for foreigners to stay in country long term. Well... hope you get what you wish for.
  3. Saw the unedited video. That man deserves death penalty... Actually, don't even bother with the courts. Just execute him.
  4. Was informed a couple of months back. Nothing changes. CardX is owned by SCB, just spinned off to a separate entity, still fully owned by SCB. According to the restructuring plan of The Siam Commercial Bank Public Company Limited (the “Bank”), which the Bank announced on 22 September 2021, the Bank will transfer certain types of the Bank’s credit card business and personal loan business to Card X Company Limited (“CardX”), which is a company in the same group as the Bank, and which has been authorized to operate a credit card business and personal loan business. Such transfer of certain types of credit card and personal loan business to CardX will become effective on 10 December 2022 (the “Business Transfer Date”) after the approval from the relevant authorities has been obtained. (If there is any change in the Business Transfer Date, the Bank will notify you accordingly.) Subrogation of Rights by the Transfer of the Credit Card Service Agreement, and the Transfer of the Claims under such Agreement By this letter, the Bank and CardX would like to inform you of the subrogation of rights by the transfer of the aforementioned credit card service agreement to CardX, and the transfer of the claims under such agreement, including the subrogation of rights to be the insured person and/or beneficiary (as the case may be) in the place of the Bank, in the case that you hold a life insurance policy, the main benefits of which will be paid for the outstanding debt of the aforementioned credit card(s) to the Bank - regardless of whether the Bank is the insured person and/or beneficiary under such life insurance policy. This will be effective from the Business Transfer Date onwards. Therefore, from the Business Transfer Date, CardX will become the service provider of the aforementioned products to you. Any statements referring that such products belong to the Bank (in all channels) shall be regarded as the products of CardX. CardX is to be subrogated as the counterparty in the place of the Bank from the Business Transfer Date onwards, and you can continue to use such products from CardX. In this regard, CardX would like to notify you of the changes made to the terms and conditions of certain related products and services as specified in this letter. Communication channel via LINE Official Account: @cardxthailand CardX has developed a communication channel with you via LINE Official Account: @cardxthailand for the purpose of checking the relevant information, such as product information, news, benefits, and reward points. You can add the LINE Official Account: @cardxthailand
  5. Usually overstay isn't a problem... unless it is. Like you take a taxi and he bumps another car, police asks for your passport... So paying fine on leaving without much or any consequences only works if you make it safely to the immigration at the airport. If you get caught anywhere else, it won't be the same. That said - I've only been asked to see passport and checked visa once in 25 years+. At the back of motorbike, very near Makkasan Airport Link station.
  6. I guess that included all the parts, which the contractor didn't bother to install, normally these would be part of the product when you buy a new one. 2 pieces or rubber seals, a plastic ring and some plastic cubes with screws that the seat screwed into. So yes, maybe a bit more expensive than others, but it was Cotto installing a Cotto toilet...
  7. Generally none include installation. In my condo the contractor did a terrible job (that was before I moved in) and as toilet is Cotto, had to ask their team to come "reinstall" it. They did an absolutely excellent job for about 2500 baht.
  8. Yes, trimming is not going to work. Instead you need to re-compress it. Easiest is VLC (videolan.org) which is also an excellent video player. In top menu, select Convert / Stream. Then choose your original file, and resize the video, lower the frame rate, possibly remove the audio, and set the bitrate like 1000 kbps (which is plenty). Then export to a new file, which you then share. It should only be a couple of MB in size.
  9. This is just my opinion... There are 2 Applications folders. One is the shared folder directly in the Macintosh HD root, another is in usr/username subfolder. When you install applications, you are sometimes asked if you're installing for every user on the Mac (then it puts it into root, main Applications folder), or only for your user (in which case it'll put it in your personal Applications folder). My take is that you probably have the link pointing to your personal Applications folder rather than the main one. In Finder properties, remove Applications from the list, then add it again. That might point to the correct one. Alternatively, if you're OK to have Applications folder in the dock, drag the correct Applications folder into the dock near the Trash, and "show as icon". Clicking on it will open the correct Apps folder and you can then select the application to run. To open that folder (say to uninstall application), just click on "Open in Finder" at the bottom of that list. Another alternative is to use launch pad, the colourful boxes icon (used to have a rocket on the icon), which shows up an iPad like interface to launch apps available in the Mac. Not sure if this is of any help.
  10. If you go to Macintosh HD (or whatever you call the main boot disk of MacOS), and then open Applications folder in there, is there anything there? Or do you just use Applications from the left side menu in Finder? Ideally it should point to same folder, but just asking...
  11. Japanese started wearing masks whenever they were sick, to lower chances of infecting others. Thais did follow, and it was customary in the offices for those sick to have masks on, to help lower the spread of germs. With pollution on increase, getting worse and longer lasting each year, it seems, the masks are also worn when the air quality outside is dreadful like right now. This used to last a month or so a decade ago, but we're up to probably to 6-7 months in a year now. Wearing masks is also about showing respect for others, making others more comfortable with you. By not doing it, especially when others do, shows total disrespect to them, in their country, so you should not be surprised the only reason you are tolerated here is because of the money westerners are seen as bringing in. Otherwise you're about as loved as middle-eastern illegal migrant in Europe. Lastly, masks and condoms are working in the same manner. They minimise chances of you infecting others, and to some level others infecting you, especially with some disease that has no immediate symptoms. Neither is mandatory. So why are you wearing those? Or in your words "when will this madness stop?"
  12. This idea doesn't take into consideration that you need a sizeable electric grid to drive all those number crunching machines. Currently bitcoin mining uses more electricity than many countries in total. To move 99% of population on your crypto, you'd need 100s of nuclear or thousands of gas/coal/hydro/etc. powerplants. I guess there is an interest from 99% of the poorest to invest trillions of dollars (in real money, not crypto) to build the power plants? That other 1% can shut down any attempt at doing that. Unless you have a trillion in your pocket. With that you can probably end global hunger by yourself.
  13. The official at the khet stated specifically that I (as PR) can only be entered into blue book, and a foreigner without PR can only be entered into yellow book. Of course you could have district offices that have no clue and make mistakes, but you should not be able to get entered in there, as for that you need to provide red police book (Alien Registration) and its number must be entered in the form to add you to blue tabien baan. The same information came from both Prachachuen and Bang Kapi.
  14. It's one of those official rules. They are not enforced... until they are. How many of you knew of that forms to register guests a few years back, yet they were in effect for half a century. Never enforced, never checked... until all of a sudden you would be in trouble if you didn't do it. Same can happen here. The Thai ID card used to state it is only valid in province of issuance. The text that you can leave with another document has only been added maybe 5 years back. If you have pink ID - go and read the point 3 at the back.
  15. No, this is 480 TB model for 900 baht (buy one, get 1 free) with lots of 5 star reviews...
  16. If it's too good to be true...
  17. Well I remember my previous place reporting the foreigner to immigration after he disappeared like that. But he also stole many things from the room, so I don't know whether he was reported because of disappearing without paying the rent, or because he stole stuff. Knew about it because I asked at reception about him since he borrowed quite a lot from me, and after a few months returned nothing... it was a "damaged ATM card and his wife/gf having birthday and he'll pay back blah blah blah" story... So when asking at reception, I was asked what has he done to me, then told me the rest of the story. Saw the <deleted> at Robinson Asoke but was with others, so I didn't want to make a scene.
  18. There will be plenty of Chinese and Indians taking this offer. That's who Thailand is targeting anyway.
  19. Just realised this was your actual question. I have not. But - I've deconstructed Seagate and Western Digital both 2.5 and 3.5" drives. And Seagate was using SATA3 with an adapter to USB, however WD did not. The drives had USB connector at the back and could not be used as internal drive. I'm talking about external USB connected hard disk drives. If box is from ADATA it is likely SATA drive inside and a converter to USB, since if using WD's USB connected drive, it would identify as WD external drive, in my opinion. Seagate anyway doesn't make hard disks with USB connectors on internal drive. Never opened Toshiba so no idea. But likely from 3rd party it would be SATA drive anyway.
