The biometrics only compare the name in your current passport with your fingerprints for that passport. There is no other search, it's just to stop different people using the one passport. It can't find any details used in a previous passport in a different name. It doesn't search a national fingerprint database.

Thai Government minimum insurance covers everyone for 40,000bht (maybe a bit more) of medical care in the event of an accident. Which is usually enough to cover most injuries if the victim is treated in a Thai government hospital.

Went to 'Auf der Au Garden' last week, all you can eat German buffet for 220bht. It was very busy an an amazing choice of food, price includes breads, cakes, tea and coffee. Also went to 'RajDarBar Indian restaurant' 220bht for a Masala curry and plain Naan. Too many places to choose from!
