Millions forced to skip meals as UK cost of living crisis deepens
BritManToo replied to Scott's topic in World News
I know a few pensioners back in the UK, no income beyond state pension. They're doing OK, so I can't see how 'professionals' aren't coping. Probably poor money management skills. Back to the OP, "Case study: Victoria Breakfasts are a luxury, weekday lunches largely a thing of the past. There are no food treats any more, no desserts or cake. For Victoria, a single mother on a low income, this denial of her own food needs has one purpose: to ensure her two primary school age children never go hungry." Not much sympathy, she chose to be a single mother with 2 kids. The UK is full of desperate single guys that would like some company. -
My relatives nearly all died in their early 60s. I've already outlived almost everyone I knew at age 66. Surprised myself, was expecting to be dead by now.

Agree, Yesterday I made shredded chicken and pasta soup, enough for 10 servings, about 100bht (same ingredients as yours -spinach +pasta). I'm betting all those people that can't afford meals only buy prepackaged, and can't cook. -
I just tighten them up until the wrench no longer moves easily.

Just imagine if they changed the law, then went to visit all registered foreigners for a wee test.

Nothing like a bit of battery spot welding with your socket wrench!

1st Was in one of the boxing ring bars (right on the street) earlier this week. Bar girl squeezing against me notices I have some weed in my bag. 'Let's smoke it now, she said' I replied, 'I've no papers' so 30 seconds later, papers, ashtrays and a lighter appear on the table. Didn't think it was allowed, but she claims nobody cared and soon the whole bar (mostly Brits) were rolling and smoking. First time this has happened to me in a Thai bar! 2nd Was out cycling with a pal this morning, quiet rural roads 'I can smell cannabis', I said. 'I can smell it too', he replied. For the next kilometre we could both smell it. The worlds going mad! 3rd Sitting in a coffee shop with my pal (same rural road) Bunch of Thais came in wearing 'Cannabis Team MaeJo' t-shirts. Green Ts, decorated with cannabis leaf design an their company name. This is getting completely out of hand.

How much do the average Thai person earn ?
BritManToo replied to Baron Samedi's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
My daughter 24/Bachelor in Business Studies and foreign tourism, works as a logistics department assistant. 20kbht/month plus an apartment in Nakon Sawan (she has to pay the utilities). -
Lots of foreigners coming to Thailand and picking up rubbish. Is this story really that different?

I'd say it was unlikely ...... Who provided the money, you or your daughter-in-law? As for the will, I'd have the grandparents right to live on the property for life put on the deeds. Wills can be changed! Would point out my lot played the same game. Granny took out a 100k loan shark loan against the family house. I paid it off when the property was put in my woman's name. I keep the chanote.

PEA and Solar how low can you go?

My guy comes on the 27th, unless it's a Sunday when it's the next day. -
Solar and Time of Use electricity
BritManToo replied to Bandersnatch's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
Not worthwhile, the 312bht off peak service charge is more than my electricity usage. Don't understand how some of you guys can have solar and still pay big grid bills. -
You're completely right!

Japan PM says country on the brink over falling birth rate
BritManToo replied to Scott's topic in World News
Speak for yourself, I would have had 10 children and the rest of my life financed by the state (or the other parent). -
I don't believe you! I know dozens of growers, and the pros do a bit better, but not a lot better. And if I did get 100gms/plant, what would I do with it? I only need 1/2gm a day for my medical condition and it doesn't keep well. I usually end up giving most of it away.
