Nonsense, no need at all to learn their feudal culture. I only interact with other male Brits, and Thai women I'm interested in some private time with. I couldn't be happier with my life here.

I learned to always travel alone. No need to take your wife with you, plenty of available women everywhere you go. Wife stays at home and looks after the house/kids/pets.

As a Brit I get 14 days waiver on arrival. Which is long enough for real tourists.

IMHO Vietnam is a far better place or tourists to visit. Nicer beaches, cleaner sea, cheaper booze, more to see.

My problems only came from one side (hers). If it had been my choice I'd still be with her and my former kids. No need for my support (beyond the $1M she got in the divorce), the state will provide. Think the OP is in the same boat.

Got to agree, shortly after I first came to Thailand I moved in with a hooker. She was a real looker but couldn't pay her 10k/month mortgage. Usually managed 2-3 guys a week in high season, I know 'cos she worked out of my gfs bar. As for customers being perverts ........ She said 50% of her customers just wanted to cuddle her and cry about their home country wives doing them wrong (no sex), which sounds about right to me. Did know a go-go girl, she managed 2x a night (+ sponsors). After a couple of years she had a big car and a nice house all paid for up front. But she was an unusually hard worker.
