As far as I know the Thai police/immigration have no access to government databases in our home countries. So there can be no increase scrutiny. Maybe they could start by stopping Thai immigration corruption and VISA agencies bribing them.

I don't think the increasing paperwork (in all countries) is anything but increasing government control of the people. There's nothing any of us can do to stop it. Anyway the increased screening of foreigners ..... what are they going to do ........ scowl more at us ...... shout 'you come too often'. There's no way they can increase scrutiny, apart from stopping all foreigners entering the country.

You'll need to visit a branch in a shopping mall if you want to do this before Monday! Last time I lost my BKB card it was a Friday night, so I had to go to a shopping mall branch on Saturday morning, it wasn't my 'home' branch but they cancelled my old card and handed over a new one straight away. Don't forget your passport, they won't do anything without your passport.

Any branch will give you access to your funds. The bank book is all that counts. Get them to enable the BKB banking app on your phone, then you can get money from ATMs without a card, and use QR codes to pay for things. They'll probably sell you a new card as well.

Well my next extension is October, before this year's tax collecting, so I'm good until at least October 2025. After that if no extension, I'll just abandon my mortgage, wife and kids, moving to Cambodia or PI. As an old guy, I may well be dead before then, so no real worries.

The issue about any law is will 'they' enforce it, are 'they' even barely competent and what is the probability of being caught and punished for breaking it. Which in Thailand is close to ZERO!
