  1. I never hear this sort of thing, maybe you're living in the wrong place if you encounter all these 'problem' foreigners. Respect Thais? next you'll be shouting 'Believe women'!
  2. "Nine Years Ago, to this very day, I was kindly cautioned that I should never post a comment on the Farang Pub..." ......... joined July 23 2021 .......... Makes me go Hmmmmmmm.
  3. Sue the rich man for unauthorised use of your wife. That game is a serious money spinner in Thailand.
  4. Why stop with the older more common drugs? I buy Cipro 500 all the time, 100bht for 10 tabs. And my latest find Norfloxacin 400, 80bht for 10 tabs (banned in the UK as too dangerous). I like the Quinolones, cheap and very effective. Generally if you name it, a Thai pharmacist will probably sell it to you.
  5. I only read this thread because I thought it was about tea bags ....... Does everyone remember the start of PG tips Pyramid bags? I'm disappointed!
  6. From the name I'm assuming he's a fellow Brit. It's an accident that could happen to anyone, I managed to break my jaw falling of a bicycle, I was perfectly sober and wearing a helmet. My ancient pal broke his hip, after toppling his m/c over when he was stopped in his driveway. Also perfectly sober. Accidents happen all the time, all over the world, if you're lucky you get up and walk away. But sometimes the seriousness of the injury is out of all proportion to the accident.
  7. I don't eat either .......... In the Philippines there was always a vast choice of Mexican/Australian/Brit/German restaurants, and I nearly always ate in those places.
  8. True, but legalisation of the plant will make it much more difficult to prosecute. Don't carry or smoke in public, and they can't get you. I seriously doubt they could make any test that could prove you were smoking high THC cannabis. There doesn't appear to be any limit set on consumption of the legal grade weed. So you'd just claim you were smoking/eating/drinking less than the legal limit (but a lot of it).
  9. From the other cannabis post .............................. "The department will put suggestions forward to the Ministry of Public Health in an upcoming meeting on May 30TH. The proposed penalty for those causing “public nuisance” by cannabis smoke should firstly be warned. Failures to stop, could result in up to one month in jail, a fine of up to 2,000 baht, or both." So firstly warnings, then a fine up to 2,000bht for repeated offences. I'm OK with that!
  10. Move to the Philippines, they're much more like us and will better fit your expectations.
  11. Not sure you're right about that. 1,500bht buys me 4 months of white rice (45Kg), for my entire family 5-6 people. Back in the village you can buy it for half that amount.
  12. Would point out Thailand only produces enough milk for 1/8 of it's consumption. That means 7/8 is imported, and nobody ships wet milk, it's all shipped as powder. I suspect ALL milk in Thailand is 'bulked out' using water and milk powder.
  13. Try finding a forum where women are talking about their cats. I don't think women over age 40 are all that interested in men .... unless they're broke.
  14. More to do with the taxation of your nanny state than the actual cost of smoking. Back in the village, where they grow tobacco, about 500bht for a years worth of 40/day. Shredded tobacco is cheaper than rice. Tobacco, cannabis and opium are probably the cheapest and easiest crops in the world to grow.
  15. Sure but Thailand drinking isn't based around beer. It's tradition is rice whiskey, around 80bht for a big bottle of 40% proof. And if you were paying 130bht for a beer, I assume you were drinking in a whorehouse of some description, which always costs more anywhere in the world.
  16. Same for the UK, spirits generally more expensive than Thailand. But was always surprised that spirits in the Philippines were around 1/4 the price of Thailand.
  17. So that's the end of Television news then?
  18. I always thought vaccinations were for making Big Pharma large profits. I may be wrong, but I don't force my thoughts onto other people's children. If my children think I was wrong, nothing to stop them walking into any GP and asking to have the missed vaccinations. Their bodies, their choices now they are adults. Same with tobacco, if they want to smoke, it's entirely up to them.
  19. Hmmmmmm, don't see the connection, It's not as if Kennedy/Clinton/Obama changed anything when they had the chance ...... and they were in power longer than Trump. I'm betting Biden won't change anything either.
  20. The 'Lemon Kush' my friend grew was 1/2 the potency of 'Critical Orange Punch' or 'Red Diesel'. But the seeds were very cheap, probably because nobody bought them a second time. If you're gonna spend 3 months growing the plants, why would you grow an inferior strain? Not all that keen on White Widow or Amnesia either, they also appear 'weak'.
  21. I don't interact with other passengers, I wouldn't know if they were weird or not. I especially avoid Americans, I don't want to talk with them about how much money they are earning, biggest bores in the world. If I were forced to talk to one of a Thai/American/Indian male, I'd probably choose the Indian.
  22. Arrive on VISA waiver for 30 days, extend at a local travel agent $50 for each 2 months up to 3 years. No age/money/income/insurance restrictions or even paperwork required. They don't even care if you work, if you don't cause trouble. I don't know why so many posters on this forum want to talk about SRRV, 'cos no foreigners I met living there used it. If you're married to a local and enter the country with your wife, 1 year VISA is free, no other conditions at all.
