  1. TBH that's not much exercise. I'm doing 6Km/day at 66 (42Km/week) At 55 I was doing around 12Km/day.
  2. I made it to 63 before the rot (very suddenly) set in. Before then I was still cycling 30Km every day or trail running in the mountains. At 66 the best I can manage is walking 6Km/day. How the Brit government can consider moving the state pension age to 70 years old is totally incomprehensible.
  3. Chiang Mai 2022, best 'air quality' year I've had here since 2009. (Prayut fixed it?????)
  4. No legit way to retire to Vietnam so it shouldn't be on the list at all.
  5. I met a 22 year old who already had 4 children.
  6. I've encountered a host of Filipino women in their early 30s who were very attractive.
  7. I'm happily living with my woman and 2 kids on 1,000pounds/month in a nice 3 bedroom house in a gated community. Without the woman and kids, I'd probably be living on 666 pounds/month. If you don't (or rarely) want sex choose the lower amount.
  8. Also the weight put me off the TJSolar locker battery 110Kg, too bulky. The CALB cells are 5Kg each, so easy to move around (80Kg total)
  9. Agree, everyone in the Philippines was very nice to me. "Thankyou for shopping here sir" "Have a nice trip sir", "Thankyou Boss" So much nicer than 'farang' or 'you'.
  10. LifePo4 batteries, 50Kbht for new 48V 260Ah 30Kbht for 48V 200Ah (using s/h CALB golf cart cells)
  11. 100A Max continuous load, there'll be a 125A 2P DC MCB in the line. I'm thinking it'll be OK. I guess the real test will be, does it get hot!
  12. Will 35mm copper multi-strand welding cable do for connecting 48V batteries with 150A load? Anything with 'solar' costs $$$$$$, I can't see any difference in spec apart from the price.
  13. If she has a NI number just sign her up for a government gateway account where she can view her NI contribution record. You may need to 'pretend' to be in the UK to open the account. https://www.gov.uk/log-in-register-hmrc-online-services
  14. Just read the UK government is thinking off raising state pension age to 70 years old.
  15. Solar panels only produce 1/2 the watts they advertise. So a 330w panel generally produces 1 unit a day, a 450w panel 1.5 units/day, etc.
  16. Ask them why they want to use Gel batteries? As Thai installers usually like 100Kbht for the install, I'd suspect the Gel batteries were s/h out of someone else's system that's just been upgraded.
  17. I can price the parts ......... 1. Growatt is expensive (70Kbht) so 11kW of off- inverter (2x 5k5 in series) = 32Kbht. 2. 26 x 450w Trina too expensive, so I'll calculate 34 x 345w = 120Kbht (vs 200k for Trina) 3. Gel is old tech (90Kbht), you can only use 60% of the rated storage (so 12kWhr), I'd use s/h LifePo4 (10kWhr x2) 60Kbht Their quote uses 360,000bht of equipment ....... so labour is quite cheap. But the gel battery storage won't last you long, you currently use 60 units/day, 12 usable units in the battery is not enough, you need at least 30 units of 'usable' storage, which you could get with the LifePo4 (3 x 48V @200AH) for the same price as they quoted your gel batteries (really odd choice for the batteries). My suggestion costs 240,000bht of equipment and gives you 3x the storage (but still 30% needed from the grid). Also the 26 x Trina panels will only generate 40units/day (at best) and you use currently 60 units/day. You may need 3x 5k5 inverters and another 8000w of panels to completely power your home.
  18. Thought it was horrible, went back to Da Nang after a couple of hours walking around. Took some nice photos of Chinese tourists though ............ loved Saigon.
  19. IMHO they're just repeating the same old tosh that people in this forum also post about PI. I used to go there twice a year with 3 other white guys, ZERO trouble for any of us. Met lots of other white guys over there, none of them had ever mentioned having trouble either. (Beyond the domestic violence perpetuated on them by their PI wife/gf of course, same as Thai girls)
  20. I never met anyone in PI on SRRV, all the peeps I met just arrived with nothing and extended every 2-3 months. (It worked out at around $300/year for the extensions, no visits to immigration required) Many were working as bar/resort/hotel managers on the sly, and immigration never seemed to care. You talk about violence and robbery, I've been there a lot and never had problems of any sort, despite walking around in the Manilla barrios late night/early morning. Everyone was always friendly and polite and like you mentioned PI guys were always up for a casual chat (unlike Thai guys).
  21. Don't agree, I'm OK with dying if something serious happens, second rate medical care is good enough for me. Never worry about tomorrow, you might not be here to see it.
  22. All the financially independent women I've encountered are awful human beings. Usually oversized, ugly and extremely bossy. Did I mention always at work, and always too tired for sex when they eventually get home?
  23. I'd prefer her to marry an old white guy and get paid 5M sinsot. But nobody listens to my advice.
  24. I've only managed to have average sex, but fairly frequent average sex. Which IMHO is better than great but infrequent sex, and wayyyy better than no sex at all (good or bad).
