  1. I've ended up cooking nearly all my meat in a cheap air fryer. About 600bht, and single portions of sausages/chicken/pork steak are cooked in 20 minutes. The only effort is remembering to turn after 10 minutes.
  2. Mainland Vintage cheddar 500gm, 265bht in Makro. Not that expensive IMHO. And if you're in Pattaya ..... https://www.facebook.com/jomtienexpatfoods/
  3. Looks like Global House have been reading @Crossy thread. If you have a spare 130kbht to spend why not buy a car port (5m x 12m), looks like 30 panels on the top. https://www.globalhouse.co.th/product/detail/072104095056
  4. Are you an anti-vaxxer? Would also point out without science we wouldn't have needles. So whichever way you look at it no science = no Hep C.
  5. I doubt there's much difference. Probably as many babies aborted now, as died before adulthood then. Science has just shifted the early death date from child to fetus. If you add in contraception, the number of unborn children is probably far larger.
  6. Without science you wouldn't have been able to fly to Thailand and catch it in the first place.
  7. Socrates managed to make 70 (400BC) and only died then because he was executed.
  8. I'm guessing the risks aren't widely advertised by the travel agents selling the holidays. But IMHO anyone bringing their teen female children to Thailand (at any time past or present) probably needs their heads examined.
  9. I seem to remember Jackie Chan in the last one (2004). Nobody seemed upset with an Asian playing the part.
  10. 1. Just say no. 2. Agree if every person in the condo has a test at the same time. I'd go with 2. as I don't want to live in a building with any infected Thais.
  11. Well in Thailand I had a new HDF bathroom door delivered Xmas day by Homepro for 630bht. If prices are going up, how much could it have cost before? (first door I've bought in my life so no previous buying experience)
  12. I keep all my money as cash, I have enough that I don't need to scrabble around to make any more. And I've also learned that most people who 'diversify' risk losing everything they own. The day our cash becomes worthless it won't matter as it will be TEOTWAWKI. In which case all you will need is guns and ammo.
  13. Yep, I do them as well, minced pork and onion pasty, about 10bht to make. (The small ones are apple pasties) Along with jam tarts, custard tarts, apple pies, apple and blackberry pie, cottage pie. All very cheap to make at home, no need to pay 10x more in the shops.
  14. Mince pies, no mince in them. I make cheesecake, and there isn't any cheese in that either.
  15. My new year resolution is to eat more Cumberland sausages.
  16. Here you go, in the freezer marked 'Surimi product' (I have no idea what that is). Just bought 2 more 'Cumberland' packs this morning, they also had 'Pork' packs as well for the same price.
  17. This is a recurrent theme by many posters, "Thailand is getting much more expensive", but I'm not seeing that. I previously posted this list, generally my shopping bills (containing many Brit items) in Thailand has been going down significantly. Sure pork has gone up a lot, and white rice has risen a little, egg prices have always been volatile. But on the other hand quality pork sausages are the cheapest I've ever seen here. https://www.makroclick.com/th/products/844546-pork-king-cumberland-pork-thick-sausage-1000g/ Petrol was 33bht/l when I arrived in 2009, so for me it's price has gone down. My mortgage repayments have dropped from 12kbht/month to 9kbht/month in the past 8 years as the interest rates have dropped. So where are these price rises, what are you buying that's gone up so much for you to claim 'Thailand is becoming expensive'? I'm just wondering? PS. Happy Xmas everyone!
