  1. Been there, drank the beer, didn't think it was special. Guessing the OP has never been there. Hanoi is great for sight seeing, but it's not a great party town. If you want wild evenings out, go south to Saigon and Vung Tau.
  2. I've had 2 of these letters in the past 5 years, they went straight in the bin. Scam, pure and simple.
  3. Impossible to tell from just the face, need to see height body shape, hands and feet in order to judge.
  4. Agreed, so many desperate women, so little time ................ I'll leave the desperate men to Sparktrader!
  5. Setting an upper weight limit of 50Kg usually takes out all the LBs.
  6. If he'd been living in a nice little house with a garden out front, all the local single women (and the single relatives of the local married women) would have noticed and hunted him down. Whenever one of my pals became available, my misses would mention it to her friends, and there would be a queue of women knocking on our door asking for an introduction. Some of them were really young, slim and attractive. Living in a condo is a bit soulless and anonymous, you can easily become invisible.
  7. I'm not sure how a link to US law relates to a debt in Thailand. In Thailand my misses owed 500,000bht on a car loan (before the time was reduced from 10 years to 5 years). Every year they sent her a letter asking for the money, every year she threw the letter in the bin. One week after the 10 years was up, she applied for a home loan of 1.5Mbt and was given it.
  8. Statute of limitations on debt was reduced to 5 years around 2011-2013. Op's debt is well out of date and need never be repaid. Best not to even reply to such claims, as acknowledging the debt can extend the statute. @4MyEgodebt in Thailand is not a jailable offence.
  9. And usually a bit on the large size.
  10. I've never trusted doctors, but I do consult with doctors and consider their advice before taking action when faced with an illness I have not previously encountered. Their recommendations on antibiotics are often wildly wrong or inappropriate. I have noticed many white folk worship doctors as some sort of divine all-knowing beings, but I've seen them kill too many people for me to feel that way. Would I let a Thai doctor cut me open .......... never!
  11. Lived with them all my life, their lies and false accusations are frequent. But there are plenty of men posting on this forum that appear to despise and believe the worst in other men. Plenty of women are mistreated by men, but just as often men are mistreated by women. I try never to believe accusations unless accompanied by evidence.
  12. The gain is in making themselves feel better about their previous actions. And making themselves look better to the person with whom they are speaking.
  13. I'd buy a COVID vaccine business. Maybe a m/c deliver and jab to your own home business.
  14. You do understand women lie? I'm betting the (alleged/rumoured/unofficial) numbers are similar in your home country because all men are evil (especially after the relationship has ended). Back to the OP, no evidence (as she was cremated), so no case to answer whether it happened or not. If true, you'd have thought the hospital that dealt with the dead body would have notices a few marks.
  15. No pork in Tesco today. Only chicken and minced chicken.
  16. I never found any danger there, and I always walked through the poor area late at night to get from bus station to airport. Everyone was very polite as they sat outside their shanties, "Enjoy your holiday sir" was often said as I walked past. (Normally the locals will call you 'sir' or 'boss', no racial slurs at all, they seem to like foreigners) As for places to live, Borocay would probably be the most expensive. I used to stay in Barretto (near Olongapo), very nice beaches, lots of foreigners, many 'nightclubs' and resorts. Can't say what it's like now with COVID, might be as locked down as Pattaya. Was no problem to have Aussie meat pies for lunch in the local pubs. Lots of Brits and Australians running most of the resorts. Free 1 year VISA from the consulate if you are entering with your Filipino wife. This is Baloy Long Beach just before COVID.
  17. They're not exactly hard to replace. Longest I've managed to live alone in Thailand was 2 weeks. Shortest time between women was 1 night. ......... and I'm not exactly god's gift ............
  18. You're lucky, my MiL came up from Petchabun just before the lock-down. She's been stuck here two months now. Used to walk around the house all day topless ........ took me a year to stop that.
  19. Not sure that's entirely true in Thailand. Spent 4 hours at San Sai hospital yesterday (regular appointment), nobody offered me a vaccine when I was there because they don't have any. How can I be prolonging the pandemic when there is no vaccine, even if I wanted it?
  20. I agree with the OP, bread and milk have been very iffy the past couple of weeks. My local 7-11, Tesco, BigC have all been out of stock for days, then a delivery that quickly sells out. Cheese and Onion crisps are also in short supply.
  21. Lots of pretty photos posted, but I'd think most of the places would only be good for a day or two before boredom set in. I'm happy enough where I am on the outskirts of Chiang Mai. Big enough house, high speed fibre, big TV, nice enough woman, 2 kids and 3 rabbits. Sure, I'd like to fly away for a weeks holiday, but longer than that and I'd just want to be home. I choose to be here for the next 12 months ............ even if I had unlimited money.
  22. I would like to point out hiking alone in the jungle isn't ever safe for anyone. At the very minimum you should tell someone where you are going and when you intend to be back. It's very easy to slip and fall, and hurt an ankle, or just get lost. Probably as many reports of tourists falling off waterfalls, or getting lost, as being attacked.
  23. You must be living in a different Thailand to me. It's just as easy to get laid today, as it ever was. I always wondered what different reason any single guy would have for coming to Thailand? Can't think of one myself .......... cheap female company ....... it's what Thailand is for! (Your payment plans may vary) It's as good here today, as it was when I arrived in 2009. My only complaint, is me getting older, but that would have happened anywhere. Back to the OP, I can see how living alone in one room in a city with everything closed might not be a lot of fun. But nobody is forcing him to live like that, he could always get a bigger place in the burbs with a bit of a garden he can sit out in. And invite a younger lady to share his home, or get some pets.
  24. I suspect the translation is in error. It would be nice to see the original Thai question and answers. Would think answer 4 likely "educating children".
