Two Workers Killed as Truck Hits Phuket Footbridge
Making this kind of assumption is a “complete knob” move - how would you know if they were forced or not? 2 Burmese workers - it would not be a surprise if they were forced to ride on the roof, not a surprise at all.

Buying a condo
Rent versus buy is always pretty nuanced and compelling arguments can be made for both sides. Before we get too carried away, though, just think about what that condo money would have done in the market over the same period of time - S&P 500 versus Thai (BKK) condo appreciation, for example. For gains there is a clear winner and it is not the condo market. Not saying there aren’t compelling reasons to buy here, just that the “gains” argument may not be the best one to make.

Is Southeast Asia Really That Safe?
On aggregate and with specific regard to violent crimes, it is less safe than its SEA cohorts, your long ago nighttime airport walk aside.

Gemini 3.1 PRO: It’s….”Dynamite Good”...Folks…!!!
To your point, I think this chart noting the point at which Anthropic’s revenue is projected to beat OpenAI’s is interesting. Not something that most would have predicted, I think. From what I understand Anthropic is betting on business/enterprise and OpenAI is betting on the average consumer, in short. But, consumers can flit about with whatever free version is “best” at the moment while business is the opposite - once embedded, it is unlikely they would switch to a different AI. Google has the resources to take a big chunk of both. Grok has Elon - would anyone bet against Elon in this space given his track record in other industries? Also, I get the sense that Altman is seen as a bit (just a bit) of a charlatan, especially when compared to his direct competitors - Dario, Demis, and Elon. All of this to say - OpenAI has a tough road ahead, IMO. I hope they IPO soon, if only for the opportunity to short it.

Study reveals why life exists on Earth—and nowhere else
Its a MSN repost of an article from something called Metro UK, whatever that is. Of course it’s poorly written, and titled. MSN lol, ok. Read the original https://www.nature.com/articles/s41550-026-02775-z

Who to see for recurring Achilles heel tendonitis in Chiang Mai?
@bamboozled there is no doubt that Dr. Chuckpaiwong is one of, if not the, best credentialed foot specific doctors in all of Thailand. Having said that, I had a less than satisfactory initial appointment with him at Phyathai 3 for insertional achilles tendinitis - dm if you would like more info. Best of luck.

Buying meds online from India?
IMO, should use a Thai based online pharmacy like Medisafe who (most likely) source their meds from India. Decent prices, reputable in my experiences - why take a risk otherwise?

- FDA Finally Admits Covid-19 Jabs Killed American Children
Assessment of Veracity and Truthfulness This article contains significant misrepresentations, misleading claims, and cherry-picked information. This article takes a controversial, unsubstantiated internal memo and presents it as definitive proof of a massive cover-up. It systematically ignores scientific skepticism, misrepresents how VAERS works, omits crucial context about COVID risks to children, and uses emotionally manipulative language. The scientific and medical community is calling for transparency and data - not celebrating vindication. The article is not a reliable source of information and appears designed to promote anti-vaccine narratives rather than accurately report on vaccine safety science. I doubt that but its clear he’s hiding something- Republican whipping in Virginia
True, but NOVA isn’t all of Virginia and it is the rest of the state that balances the vote out. Elections ebb and flow between one side and the other recently, which to me puts it squarely in the “purple” category.- Republican whipping in Virginia
This is the problem with you right wing zealots - if a state isn’t deep red, it must be deep blue. You clearly know little about the political leanings of Virginia but feel compelled to share your ignorance nevertheless. Pathetic best sums up this response and most others as well. - FDA Finally Admits Covid-19 Jabs Killed American Children
