  1. I repeat, the OP clearly requested 'proof of income', which is precisely what I provided. The simple adage is: If you want the right answer, ask the right question'.
  2. Where did you get that from? I've never heard or read that anywhere.
  3. That should go down well with those (many of) who use their monthly incomes to facilitate their annual extensions.
  4. How did you manage to turn a question into a suggestion?
  5. The headline is quite clear. The OP asked about 'Proof of Income' and that's exactly what I've provided. It is incidentally the method I've used ever since we lost the convenience of the embassy letters.
  6. Bank statement and PDF downloads of Wise transfers.
  7. Hazard lights should only be switched on when the vehicle stationary and is, in fact a hazard. That's why they're called 'hazard lights'.
  8. When turning right, having taken all right precautions (mirror, signal, maneuver) never assume that no one will pass you on the right!
  9. Yet another rumour monger. Where's your evidence Swissie? Let's have your references.
  10. The rest of the Cicero trilogy are well worth reading if you haven't already. Robert Harris has a number of other very good books. Top of my list is 'Act of Oblivion', See review here
  11. I've recently been absolutely captivated by the 'Cicero' trilogy by Robert Harris. I've never had much interest in Roman history erstwhile, but this series, although a novel, stills holds true to events of that period and it is an amazing read. When I see 'Quotes by Cicero' which is quite often, they really mean something to me now. So I went in search of 'similar books' I came up with 'When We Where Gods'. a novel by Colin Falconer based on the life of Cleopatra. It too is intertwined with Rome of the same period. Equally fascinating. And as I lived in Egypt for 7 years, this book was of particular interest to me.
  12. That sounds like 2 metres too much! If that load had been half a metre lower it would have gone through the windscreen with disastrous consequences.
  13. You think too much! Why make all this fuss without any evidence that the sky is actually falling? And by the way in the very unlikely event that the sky does fall, using your home country bank card to draw cash from an ATM will not protect you from paying tax on the that money. 'Expats often ask if withdrawing cash in Thailand from an overseas account or paying a third party, like school fees with a foreign credit card, counts as a remittance taxable in Thailand. The answer is yes. Both types of transactions are seen as remittances into Thailand and are taxable. Under the CRS, these transactions are automatically reported to the Revenue Department, making them aware of these financial activities'. https://www.expattaxthailand.com/how-crs-enables-thailands-tax-authorities-to-track-your-finances/
  14. That looks a nice safe load on the pick up. I wonder how many metres it's overhanging by.
  15. When you fill in the booking form just enter her name exactly is you see it on her ID card. Just as you would if you were using a passport. As best I recall the title Mr. Mrs. or Miss are not asked for, but it is a while since I flew anywhere.
  16. Her name is in English on her ID card. Just that. Edit: Unless you're travelling with her, don't pay with a bank card. The card holder must be one of the passengers and they may ask to see the card.
  17. Get it out there on the road and give it a good airing. That's what they're made for.
  18. Leave us in peace to get on with our lives.
  19. Because they are, by far the most prominent features standing by roadside. It would be more difficult NOT to hit one.
  20. There is a lot of info here that explains why a Fax can be regarded as a legal document, even in a court of law and why they are still used. At least there is for those patient enough to read it. https://ww2.efax.com/uk/blog/why-fax-is-legally-binding#:~:text=A faxed signature is legally,be sufficient evidence in court. I've used Wisefax a few times to transmit a Fax directly from my computer. https://app.wisefax.com/send/?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw5ea1BhC6ARIsAEOG5py9P9x1Ou6GfiuEcPxQAxop-czxTVjLQhdlfMH2ze428LsfYZO4xOIaAp_XEALw_wcB#!/upload
  21. Alcoholism is a chronic disease of the brain and there is no cure for it. The best that anyone can hope for is to control it. The complete success rate for recovery treatments such as Alcoholics Anonymous is around 35%
  22. I don't think they'll need to look very far.
  23. A helmet with visa completely eliminates such accidents. It can also save your life.
  24. When you say 'I don't participate on social media' perhaps you should have added 'with the exception of ASEAN NOW'. 😉 Non the less, that aside I completely agree with you. I'm much the same as you and if I hadn't become aware of this RUMOUR and that's all it is, on ASEAN NOW I wouldn't know about it at all. And I'd that wager that there are thousands of resident expats out there who genuinely don't know about it. I'll come back to that word RUMOUR that I used because many people may not be aware of how and when this RUMOUR started. It started on or just after the 18th Sep last year when The Thai Enquirer published an article on the amendment to Thai tax rulings. And in that article it clearly stated 'Also exempt will be those who have been taxed in a foreign country that has a standing Double Tax Agreement with Thailand'. I have yet to come across anything, anywhere that contradicts that statement. And I've made a pretty thorough search. https://www.thaienquirer.com/50744/thai-government-to-tax-all-income-from-abroad-for-tax-residents-starting-2024/
  25. She will not have to give bank details when she registers. This is a digital wallet remember. The money will not be deposited into her bank account. 1. I don't know but it's a reasonable guess. It has to be spent within 6 months. 2. Those without smartphones will be able to use their Thai ID cards. 3. Your guess is as good as mine. How does one define 'local' in Thailand?
