  1. For Thailand's well-being and international standing Thaksin and family should be permanently exiled with no possibility of a return. Sadly money talks, and such an outcome is unlikely.
  2. As with so much legislation in Thailand the revised law is vague, allowing school management some flexibility on the hairstyle issue. Nevertheless the behaviour of the teachers at the school in Rayong is unforgivable and a disgrace.
  3. Thanks to incompetent governance, for over a century, going back as far as it's unnecessary involvement in WW1, Britain is now bankrupt and heavily in debt.
  4. In other words any President can get away with stretching the rules if he or she was voted in with a substantial majority.
  5. People are not voting for the PP because they know from recent experience that the party won't be allowed to govern even if it wins local or national elections.
  6. Amazing how some/you people fall for this tactic time and again. Trump nearly always throws in an outrageous comment at the start of any negotiation/discussion in order to stir things up a bit, and catch any opposition off guard. In this case you can be sure he will not be accepting the offer of an aircraft from Qatar. but he will string the Qataris along for a while, maybe picking up some useful info in the process. It will give some of you a further chance to froth and fulminate about how appalled you are at the behaviour of your President during his second term of office. Meantime, lighten up and enjoy the rest of your day !
  7. Thailand is not the smartest place to try to hide in. The RTP seem to be good at extraditing criminals if requested/incentivized to do so by the criminals' home countries.
  8. Carney did not impress as governor of the Bank of England.
  9. You say 'He sounds far worse than Biden ever did'. That is clearly a ridiculous statement.
  10. Some guys have done very well in Thailand. Notably they are those who thoroughly study and learn the complexities of Thai business culture, and who pay great attention to detail.
  11. It remains to be seen if the current UK govt can do a better job than the Tories who preceded them for 14 years. Only time will tell, but the signs are not encouraging.
  12. Good question. The UK monarchy has no direct power, unlike the Pope, but it's members are allowed to exercise enormous influence, including leading Britain into 2 world wars.
  13. ...and the cringe-making embarrassment Kier Starmer.
  14. No. They were all polite and well behaved. Never ever saw aggression of any kind.
  15. The sad killing of the transgender person in Pattaya was murder. Meanwhile the police in the UK have been arresting people for utterly trivial reasons under the heading of 'hate crimes'. It appears this nonsense is now coming here.
  16. One person died and two others were seriously injured. Nothing was staged. Those were real bullets. Have some respect.
  17. Well said. It is not only the wanton felling of a 150 year old Sycamore tree that has upset so many people, but also the loss of it's stunning location by Hadrian's wall.
  18. You paid over the odds but not by that much given it was 2 o'clock in the morning. Hardly worth a mention.
  19. No worse than underground car parks anywhere in any country. A combination of reasons, not the least of which is vagrants using them as a lavatory.
  20. I fear this investigation is not going anywhere, sadly for Thailand.
  21. House in Bangkok, house in Rayong province.
