  1. Agreed....and that may not be the eventual plan. Front page of Bangkok Post has a story saying that the government intends to set up "swab hubs" for tourists (I swear, I'm not making this up) across Bangkok. The story likened it to Phuket which, apparently, had PCR tests set up at hotel check-in.....? Dunno. Story is pretty vague on details, as usual, so I guess we wait to see.
  2. It also says this: "The study suggests that the increased risk of breakthrough infections in people with substance use disorders was primarily due to co-occurring diseases and adverse socioeconomic characteristics. When these factors were controlled for, people with most substance use disorders no longer had elevated rates of breakthrough infections. "
  3. According to the UK govt website, because you are traveling from a country on the "red list" you'd need to have a negative PCR test within the previous 72 hours of traveling and then pay for a quarantine hotel. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/red-amber-and-green-list-rules-for-entering-england#red-list-rules That "google" thing is awesome. You should check it out sometime.
  4. To respond directly to the OP, the answer is "no". There is no clinical evidence that Ivermectin prevents/cures COVID. Listen to the scientists, not to Facebook. Good grief and holy hell.
  5. OK, but the relatively small pieces of data from Israel are utterly dwarfed by data in Europe which are not showing at this point a decline in protection. This is a much greater level of observation and data. (I'm including the UK in the "European" data even though....you know.) While Israel is seeing a huge rise in cases for Delta, it's in a country that didn't get much of an Alpha surge - during Alpha there were tight restrictions inside Israel and tough border restrictions too. So comparing the data needs to take that into account. The Mayo Clinic (USA) has indeed said that vaccine effectiveness is declining against Delta. Is this due to Delta's genetic advantages? Or is it due to antibodies declining over time? Or is it a bit of both? Or is it something else? At this point the case that overall protection is already showing a decline due to time (as opposed to other factors) is not proven or observed. Maybe this data will surface, it just hasn't yet.
  6. Well, to start, neither has been approved by the World Health Organization. If that organization - which is a Chinese lapdog - doesn't approve their vaccines then it doesn't say much for the quality. Further, I'm not sure why anyone needs to provide "proof" to you of anything. You presumably have google like everyone else. But here, let me help you: "“We will solve the issue that current vaccines don’t have very high protection rates,” Gao said in a presentation on Chinese COVID-19 vaccines and immunization strategies at a conference in the southwestern city of Chengdu. “It’s now under consideration whether we should use different vaccines from different technical lines for the immunization process.” https://apnews.com/article/china-gao-<deleted>-vaccines-offer-low-protection-coronavirus-675bcb6b5710c7329823148ffbff6ef9 So, you see, even the Chinese think their own vaccines suck.
